As an example I haven’t bought an SWFC top in maybe 12-15 years and have no intention of doing so. because I’m a tight Yorkshireman but also because it’s something I won’t bother wearing Why is this just a tight Yorkshireman thing? You’re a grown adult who doesn’t want to wear a football club shirt when out and about. That’s fairly normal. It’s the same all around the country

Pouring cash into the club to support the team they love. He assumed that he could make the club a commercial success. He failed to understand that Yorkshiremen are tight as they come and that South Yorkshire is NOTHING like the rest of the country. As someone not native to the area is was a shock to me too. Yorkshire is miles more working class than other places and Sheffield isn’t like Manchester/Birmingham/Leeds. Stafford said the same back in the day. Most Wednesday fans haven’t got the cash to spend on the club. You aren’t going to sell out lots of boxes and top end merchandise. This issue caps the potential of the club. It will always be held back by the land that time forgot... I see you're fishing here, but I do agree with what you are saying to a point. I'm from Sheffield and proud to be so. I have lived and worked in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham as well as in The US mostly in Atlanta which is a very progressive city. Sheffield is a unique place, especially with regard to our outlook in general, very negative, very insular and it stems from the local leaders through the citizens. We simply don't make the most of what we have. We invented football, stainless steel to name a couple of things, we have world leading Universities and hospitals everyone in the world should know that yet nobody does. Our geographical position doesn't help now, being on the edge of the peak district and at the bottom of the Yorkshire region, but unless we stop playing the victim and start marketing ourselves we will continue to be bypassed, like HS2. Our whole mentality, humour and general outlook on life is unique, but unfortunately it portrays us to the outside world in quite a negative light.

Errol Flashman
It's not hard. Run yer business within its means. Know your customer and their trends. Give them something they want to buy at a price they can afford snd will keep buying. It really int that hard. 3 Just a bloke. Being dragged along in a world that moves too quick for it's own good.
