HighworthOwl
She has really p**see them off! I kind of get what she is saying - the covid break helped the squad recover. Which is a massive boost to them with the style of play they employ and the way they faded the season before. They call out all pundits, clubs and managers who make negative comments (bit tinpot) so I think the sexist calls are wide of the mark.
NorfolkNChance
She just worded it badly it’s all, the break did them good it just came out wrong.

0wl18
I think she was talking utter nonsense tbh. Leeds pre-lockdown won 5 on the bounce without conceding a single goal. Their record in the first 5 games back was 3 wins, a draw and, a loss. The loss came against Cardiff and, they drew with Luton (coincidently within their first 3 games back). Hardly an improvement is it? Considering there were only 9 games left in the season when it restarted, they’d done the donkey work. Her comments were off the mark and, she’s rightly been criticised for it. Pundits shouldn’t be exempt from criticism, they shouldn’t however have to face any form of abuse. The tweet Leeds made didn’t incite abuse IMO and, they have nothing to apologise for.

Agree, she was off the mark and didn't need to bring it up and when she did it sounded like she has something against Leeds (maybe she does but that doesn't need to be put in full view to everyone) But the bit I've highlighted - pundits these days are awful for the most part and if we started criticise we'd blow up the internet!! 0wl18
If she’d have said that, the style of play Leeds have, coupled with the ridiculously congested fixture list we’ve got this season, would potentially result in Leeds burning out, she’d be spot on. Its the correlation she tried to make between the break last year and, Leeds winning promotion. A team who have won 5 on the bounce without conceding a single goal, do not want the season to end. They’d have romped home. The lockdown didn’t affect that. They were the best team in the league before COVID, they ended the season as the best in the league with COVID. She probably just got her words mixed up and, didn’t make the point she meant to. Unfortunately when you’re a paid ‘expert’ you’re not going to get away with it. You make good points. Pundits sometimes have to rely on being outspoken or controversial, which for a woman in a predominately male environment is a dangerous thing to do. However, I think most fans would respect well inform opinion from anyone, but as you say she was clearly wrong in this regards.

At this stage he is almost a parody of himself always trying to get someone riled up. Failed manager trying to hound others out of the job.

It might not have directly incited abuse but if you’ve spent any time of twitter you’ll know what an utter cesspit it is. Zero doubt that tweet from Leeds will have led to Karen being inundated with vile comments.

Should Amazon pull all highlights so idiots don’t send file abuse to anyone with a differing opinion to them? It’s down to Social Media to stamp it out. The vile individuals will always exist. Remove the anonymity Twitter and, other platforms can provide, make users provide So form of ID check. Let’s see how much abuse gets handed out when there’s accountability.
