Not much changing with the odds at the minute. Poyet and Fink massive favourites. Personally hope it’s neither of those.

Who would your choice be out of interest? With it likely to be foreign considering Chansiri has probably had enough hiring English managers after the last 2 failures, so which is your choice?

Why? I wouldn't mind either.

Agreed,  I expect some will say that want an experienced championship manager - oh but not the likes of Pulis or Monk.

Turning our noses up at the likes of Poyet and Fink seems a little risky in my opinion, given it can be oh so much worse.

Here's the latest on the Emerson Thome whelm-ometer:

Gus Poyet - 3 whelms out of 5 - did a good job at Brighton, seems to have a history of falling out with people after that. Risky. 11/10 odds.

Thorsten Fink - 2/5 - underwhelming recent career record, allegations of racism from his time in Switzerland. Avoid. 11/4 odds.

Jose Morais - 3/5 - the smiling assassin, two league titles with Jeonbuk and good pedigree as Mourinho's assistant. Worth a punt. 8/1 odds.

Fatih Tekke - 1/5 - lower-league Turkish journeyman. Not particularly a delight. 10/1 odds.

Paco Jemez - 2/5 - Spanish journeyman. Win ratio in last 5 jobs: 34%, 0%, 35%, 9%, 30%. No, señor. 12/1 odds.

Paul Cook - 4/5 - three league titles (2 x League Two and 1 x League One) and seemingly coped well with the crisis at Wigan last year (59pts would have had them in 13th without the points deduction). 12/1 odds.

Nigel Pearson - 5/5 - mad as a box of frogs and a club legend. Helped build the Leicester miracle team. Unfortunately, never going to happen in this lifetime. 14/1 odds.

Ben Olsen - 3/5 - youngish US coach, who spent 10 years at DC United. Reputation for being defensive and working on small budget. Heard that one before, pass. 16/1 odds.

Neil Thompson - 2/5 - man in possession, another win tonight and momentum could start to build.... can't help but think he'd be better remaining as a coach. 16/1 odds.

Danny Cowley - 3/5 - dented a bright reputation with Huddersfield, but did save them from relegation. Worked wonders at Lincoln. 16/1 odds. Worth a punt? But not likely the Chansiri's cup of tea.

Christian Gourcuff - 3/5 - "considered in France as a shrewd tactician with a strong commitment to attacking football and an eye for young talent" according to his wiki profile that he may or may not have written himself. 20/1 odds.

Grant McCann - 1/5 - will struggle unless the parking situation at Hillsborough is sorted out pronto. 25/1 odds.

Daniel Stendel - 2/5 - habit of falling out with people. Cameron Dawson has his fingers and toes crossed. 25/1 odds.

David Wagner - 4/5 - worked wonders at Huddersfield, but is he a one-trick pony? We've started to reassemble his 2017 Hudds team on the quiet so why not? 25/1 odds.

Paolo Di Canio - 1/5 - wonderful player, horrible man. Poor manager. 33/1 odds.

Sven-Goran Eriksson - 4/5 - charismatic Swede lacking in ear-lobes. Would bring a touch of Scandinavian glamour to proceedings. 33/1 odds.

Gary Rowett - 3/5. Odds of 33/1 currently - LUMP ON!!! (Disclaimer: currently managing a better team in the division with no reason to come)

Ryan Lowe - 3/5. Ryan Lowe, Ryan Lowe, we've (not) got Ryan Lowe. Doubt he's in the running, would be big step up for him. 33/1 odds.

Slaven Bilic - 4/5. Unlikely to be interested. Did well at West Brom but had more parachute payments to help him. 33/1 odds.

Steve McClaren - 1/5. OH MY GOD MAKE IT STOP. 33/1 odds.

33/1 - Rafa Ben.....You really are yanking my chain now.

Season halted next week, or just after cup tie.... PPG comes into effect We stay up and Chansiri sacks Houdini. 😋

If the season were to be curtailed and decided on PPG how would the points deduction be applied.

Full 6 points deducted ?

Percentage of 6 points depending on number of matches played ?

No deduction but -6 points applied next season ?

It's a reyt can o' worms innit?

Nigel pearson :pulis:

last three jobs.

1.  Getting sacked at derby after a few months, lots of defeats and falling out with chairman

2.  Leading a random Belgian team to bottom of league before being sacked

3.  Getting sacked by Watford after a few months in charge as they slid to relegation.

5 out of 5 tho.

Yes Poyet has a history of falling out with people, sacked at Bordeaux for complaining about a player sale despite a 61% win record.  So if Chansiri does his homework he may not be an option.  Though I feel he would be alright.

We have to hope that Chansiri will do what he says and appoints the right man this time

Not being funny, but does it really matter who the next manager is whilst DC owns the club. We literally are the laughing stock of football. Perason, Poyet, Cook or whoever. DC dictates whats what so we would be best in keeping with Thompson who knows how Chansiri operates.

All owners dictate what's what, that's the nature of being an owner.   We need a manager, ideally I'd like to see Pearson get it but he constantly rules himself out, so on that basis I'd look for someone abroad as no other British based manager inspires me.

Bet Victor have moved all front 3 out in price today slightly. Poyet now 5-4 with them.

It suggests nothing cut and dried at ths stage.

Interesting most popular bets are Ryan Lowe and Paul Cook. Which is obviously fans money.

Bookies must have heard something about Morais, Tekke, Fink and Poyet  The issues with each of ythem suggest would be disaster in each case.

Now we are out of EU the merits of each of these would hardly make them elite in profession and if rules applied could not see Tekke, Morais or Fink getting approved. Poyet may actually live in country but again if not others who live in country and are out of work have better credentials.

Other major issue is his best results when he works with Craig Shakespeare as assistant. When without him has been a disaster,

Shakespeare is currently first team coach at Villa which he took up this season. Villa is his boyhood club and you can not see him leaving them. Therefore think if on own his score would be 0/5.
