500k doesn’t buy much in terms of contracted players at champ level. Wigan paid 2mil for him. That was over the odds. What we paid with a year left on his deal was probably fair.

For me, he’s on a very short list of players we should want to keep. 
 

I also think he’d probably play in a different position at another club - Right midfield or Right forward

Puts a shift in, bonus, lone striker with no real presence, ball never sticks to give us a breather, atde would be of more use and that's a low standard to accept, good luck if windass can improve on his current career status but I doubt it.

I can stomach pretty much any player leaving as long as we get good value for them - which in this case would be at least six or seven times higher than the mooted fee.
