I'd just like to take a moment to say a Merry Christmas and a Thank You from everyone at Owlstalk HQ 

It's been such a grim year both on and off the pitch at Sheffield Wednesday, and of course away from football with everything that's gone on in 2020.

But we've made it to this point and we'll all make it through next year as well. 

And the way that everyone has contributed on this site over the last year has quite literally kept me (and no doubt countless others) sane.

Owlstalk was first formed as place for people to have a laugh, joke, and take the mick out of ourselves as Wednesday fans. That was it's prime aim. It was never meant to be anything serious, or a place for really serious professional analysis of our club or the players or the results - it was just formed to have a laugh as Owls fans.

Throughout this year you've all entered into that spirit of the site in great form and it's the laughter and smiles that has kept us all going, especially given everything that's gone on.


So I'd like to say THANK YOU for being a part of this community, for keeping the smiles coming and for being such a great lot.


I know it's a bit weird this year but let's get this Christmas out of the way and then we can go into 2021 and the exciting transfer window and the publication of the latest accounts (see what I did there? I made a funny - again!)

But seriously MERRY CHRISTMAS and I hope you have the absolute best time that you possibly can.

Here at Owlstalk HQ I've decided not to have a proper Christmas and have decided instead to postpone it for a few months until these lockdowns have gone away and I've had my vaccination thingy and then at that point I'll be doing an Owlstalk Christmas and share it on here for you all to enjoy  (or mock me for given it'll probably be summer by then)

Whatever you are doing do it the best you can, get as much out of it as possible


Owlstalk will be open 24/7 so for anyone who's around it would be absolutely fantastic to chat to you all on Christmas Day and Boxing Day - there's always loads of us online and we'll be here for you. It's always a cracking day on here on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so I'm already looking forward to it loads!


So THANK YOU - Thank you for visiting, reading, donating, subscribing, posting and contributing. It's you guys that make the site (despite me obviously being the footballing expert and genius behind it all) and I thank you for what you do.

Aye, 2020 has been crap all round, but we have managed to keep going and take the mick out of ourselves on here which has kept our spirits up. Its been bad enough with the torture and crap Wednesday have made us suffer this year, but covid made it an even worse year. 

 

So, I personally can't wait for a transfer Umbongo and no players signed in January and the accounts resulting in a points deduction for breaching FFP  again. :duntmatter:

 

This place keeps us all going and we would be lost without Owlstalk.

Just think where we could have been if Gary Monk never arrived, even keeping Bullen as manager we cannot have been as useless as we were.

 

If only we had gone for the correct Gary from Birmingham who ended up at Millwall. Guided a weak Millwall squad to 8th place finish just 2 points off the play offs. this season has his team on 25 points from 20 games.

Just wanted to take a minute to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy year, most of all good health!
These days people don't spend much time or thought on some personal words to their friends and family, they just copy and paste some random poo and send it on.
So, after all we've been through together this year I want to thank you for your friendship and wish you a happy 2018!
You are the best gymnastics group anyone could ask for.

I can only disagree with half the post script...

 

Guy Whittingham was a reyt player for the money spent. Just like Paul Warhurst.

 

I think Tone should call Trev and ask him to recommend a new striker for us in 2021
