Worst Wednesday side in 20 years?

Recommended Posts

Funny isn't it how less fans thought we were going to go down and talk was of mid table at best this season under Monk?

But hang on apparently we needed Pulis to stop us going down according to the Monk haters. The footy was only ever half as bad as this with half the players missing.

A very poor squad yes but if Chansiri is £350M down whose fault is that? The managers rarely got who they wanted, so how come DC keeps sacking them, but sticks with Paixo who has helped waste more than £300M of that money because we can't much more than £25M worth of players at the club now.

Big changes needed and much much better quality. Brian Laws was spot on tonight Chansiri has been short changed. It has to stop and we have to invest in quality not quantity.

It's reaching Turner and Irvine levels easily. Reminds me more of the Turner era where we had the odd moment of quality or player who is better than the rest. However the sum of the parts is equal to that.

We are going down. No doubt about it now. Just hope we plan for it January

Even under turner and Irvine there were good memories.

Pompey away under Turner, Barnsley away under Irvine, for quick examples.

I cant think of any other side we've had since 2000 that is this poor. Especially when you think of some.of the transfer fees.

I'd say the worst side and standard of football for 45 years. It's just like the era round 1974/75

Irvine could have taken us to league 2. But this squad might struggle in league 2 on these showings.

Harsh not to give Pulis a transfer window but I wouldn't care if we didn't. Give it to Paul Cook and let him start planning for a league one promotion push next year.

Anyone who has had any say in recruitment in the last 4 years should be sacked immediately

this was partially  monks squad and while it wasnt ripping up any trees it was edging slowly in the right direction towards safety ........that wasnt good enough for some  who wanted him gone so we have to bite the bullet while pulis shapes  his squad ...........its what can happen when you are constantly changing your manager ,forest are in the same boat .  hughton is a competent manager but as been struggling with someone elses squad .

This is without doubt the worst Championship side we have had since  relegation from the Premier League.

I'm getting there but not quite sure yet. The 2001-04 squads were biblically awful -and in the Yorath period, had the same soulless "the dressing-room's gone" taint that we've had for a lot of this year (just before lockdown and over the last couple of games(...

The run we are on at the moment is as bad if not worse than what we had to endure in 74/75.

Think a new "Our Lowest Ebb" might be required soon just to keep the record straight.

Thank you DC for turning this once great club into a complete and utter shambles.

£25m of players at the club? The only ones who would attract fees are Bannan, Reach, Iorfa and Luongo. And we’re talking a couple of mill tops for the first three and 350k for the latter

a few of the others teams would take on a free on vastly reduced wages

the other half are lower league or even non league standard

Can you imagine if we could attend games and we were charging near £40 as well?

The next record we set will be the only club in the country who's attendances fall after the Covid restrictions are lifted...... lol
