@owlstalk
It's not over yet folks Remarkably even though we've been doing so horrifically bad (especially in the recent games) this division is so poor that despite our form, and despite us having six points taken off us, thanks to the work that Garry Monk did in pulling those points back we still remain only 4 points away from safety! So there's everything still to play for and more than enough games to get to safety So for those saying Pulis needs time - he's had/got plenty of time. He's got so many games between when he walked into the club and the end of the season a manager of his calibre should have no problems at all pulling us out of this mess. For those saying we won't recover just take a look at the league table. Just four points between us an Nottingham Forest - and thanks to Garry Monk who had us as the fifth best defence in the division our goal average is better than the teams above us. So it's all on Pulis now. He has the same squad Monk was doing ok with He has more than enough time to get to know his squad, instill his ethics, his style, his tactics He has a transfer window to do business in even. It's 100% all on Tony Pulis and a manager of his calibre (and wages) should be able to pull this off with ease. Just four points away from safety! And think about this also From arriving at Sheffield Wednesday to the end of this season Tony Pulis will have had 33 games in total, and a possible 99 points to play for. It's not over yet folks 2 3 Owlstalk Shop
Guest mkowl
Its not over I remain optimistic Then the game kicks off Unfortunately having watched football for years you can smell a club that will get relegated. This one from the owner downwards is like a 300 day old French cheese
fatzooma
Unfortunately, a lot of our supporters believe it is over and seem happy to be able to say ‘ I told you so’.. Major flouncing going on. its only a game! Relax
mcmigo
The best part of this is that Tony pulis is guaranteed to keep us up . So even if we finish in the bottom 3 he can just show the league that guarantee and we will be ok.

It's not over yet folks I get that, the thing that worries me is that we've lost to all the "poor" teams that you expect to be down there so effectively gifted them points. Yes you could flip it and say we beat bournemouth, held Watford and Reading but I'd have rather have lost to them and beat the likes of Rotherham, Wycombe, Huddersfield and Barnsley. They are now 3 points closer to safety and making our battle so much harder. Its the teams around us we have to get results against and we're not capable of doing that at the moment - It might be too late by the time we are.

Look how many games we have left though And if Pulis had won just ONE game we'd only be one point from safety Monk has left him in a position of strength - it's up to Pulis now to continue the work Monk was doing and take us to safety He's got more than enough time/games to do so If Pulis failed with everything he was left with, the number of games, the number of points to play for (he's had 21 points to play for just in the games he's played since he arrived!!) then it would be a failure of monumental proportions! He's got this Stick with it - It's not over yet folks 3 Owlstalk Shop

mcmigo
The very last gasp equaliser against qpr was a big blow. Without that we would have had 14 points from first 11 matches ( not including the 6 point deduction ) , the same form as 12 placed Blackburn over those first 11 games (after which monk was sacked ). the squad can perform at mid table levels. It has finished mid table between about 56 and 65 points for every season we have been in this league since promotion apart from the spendageddon two years under Carlos. We were showing mid table form under monk this season before he was sacked. tony Pulis can do it , no doubt about it, a manager of his standing I am sure will ultimately our perform the likes of Dave jones, Stuart gray, jos luhukay, snake Bruce and Garry monk who all finished mid table.

WalthamOwl
I find it unbelievable that even without a point deduction we would only be 4th from bottom. There is some real crap in this league, the sad thing is we are one of them. already it looks like there will be a mini league at the bottom, the gap between us and 18th is terrible. Also Barnsley are now 16 points ahead of us. Embarrassing. Barnsley ffs. January is massive, we need 4 or 5 players to come straight in to the first team. Will it happen? I doubt it. I agree with this, it is completely out of order for the league to ask Tony Pulis to play mid week games right now when he needs to look at players. It’s another sign of the EFL ruining the game.
mattitheowl
Obviously it's not over, we've still got to endure another 26 games of this sh*t. If you offered me relegation tomorrow or having to watch the rest of the games, I'd honestly have to think very hard about my choice! 1 Just not bothered... Can’t judge him until, earliest, 2024.
