Who Else Laughed

Recommended Posts

In the end I just started laughing at our own players, utter garbage, watched Borner run forward with the ball only

to lose control, kick it too far in front, lunge, ends up on his arris, Reading player smoothly collects the ball moves it

sideways and watches Borner having to get up and run back, he was not the only one Reach in the penalty area, got

square onto the ball and chest it and clear, oh no, stay sideways on, do a kung fu kick, handle the ball and look all

innocent, my missus asked me what I was laughing at, "tragedy", I say, they were not the only ones, lots of guts out

there tonight, but lets be honest, that was comedy.

The two moments of comedy tonight came from Paterson for me

One was the long throw straight to their keeper

But the best one was his pass to the corner flag

What about when he slipped and face-planted with nobody anywhere near him.

I really like Paterson.

Nah the best one was when he shielded it out so Reading could have a throw

Pretty sure it was calculated risk, we were more likely to get a chance from them making a mistake than us actually having the ball.

Was that the one, where he gets up arms aloft asking for a foul.

My favourite Paterson moment (other than the cupped ears after his goal) was either the one where he just shoved their player over with two hands and the lad went flying, or when he was one on one and decided to try and run straight through their defender. He’s limited as a footballer but he gives everything and it’s entertaining to watch, I like him

Yeh, forgot all about that one, brilliant.

Maybe I’ve drunk too much

but I was so glad to see we had some actual fight in us tonight 🤷‍♂️

I'm all for the cause an all, but in the end if you don't find the funny side you're not going to last the Season.

I didn't laugh.

I stood up from my comfy chair an applauded the tiny figures on my computer screen off the pitch.

Hearts of Lions tonight. Hearts of lions.

Not trying to take away how they fought, but some of it was like Keystone Cops.

and if I didn't laugh I would cry.

One of the bizarre things about the game isn't it.

Probably one of my favourite Wednesday sides ever. Best Wednesday sides ever. With two of my favourite defenders in it.

And they often conceded some absolute comedy howlers.

This being one that long lives in the memory.
