Popular Post Lord Snooty
******************** ******************** How did your nerves take it? I'll tell you what. That's defending that is. We'd have fallen to pieces this time a month ago. Second top scorers in the division....against ten men. If you were a betting man it looked like a likely hammering for the Wednesday. But no! Defended like Lions! If only we'd defended that well at Hastings, but alas... I've never been so happy with a draw. Yes we need wins of course. But I'll take that tonight. 3 half times substitutions too. Mixed things up to make sure we got a point. No "Lets keep it the same and cling" A plan 'B' and lets be honest, the number of times we finish with ten men it's worth having a 'what if we go to ten men' plan in the locker! Honestly, some will be crying into the ale pot tonight but I'm really pleased with that point. Expect the lads Shaw will be getting an arm around the shoulder and a breath of hot air in his lug holes in the morning. But there we go. Learning curve for the lad. You can't give referees a decision to make - Because they'll make them all right I'm going to have to have a think about my vote tonight because there were some lads in there put in some real gutsy , ball breaking performances. By God! I've just twigged it. Why I'm so happy. For the first in an age... Our players showed huge mental fortitude. They didn't bottle anything. Thats's it! Mental strength. That's the underlying feeling of hope I've found filling me tonight. Anyway, I'm blathering. I'm off for a Brandy and a think about my vote Who was your man of the match? Please add your match thoughts and ratings too! Well done Pulis. Well done the Wednesday boys 22
Kendo Nagasaki
Gotta give it Patterson tonight scored and worked tirelessly when in midfield. Just ahead of Borner, Lees and Wildsmith (what a save in the 1st half. UTO
CircleSeven
Iorfa. Came on and marshalled the defence like the boss he is. Plus the ref for ‘evening up’ after the red card by missing 2 stone wall pens.
Morepork
Pulis Couldn't have arrived at a tougher time from a fixture perspective, it would have been easy to have lost all four games so far. Not to mention Injuries, morale, form (our squad....) etc, etc. Edited December 2, 2020 by Morepork

The losses to the other bottom 3 sides. The mentality could have been on it's 'arris. And we've seen time and again over the previous 18 months with the number of goals we've conceded after the 90th minute that it was.... ...so to see this level of resilience , determination. Fight and fire. I'm delighted. Because I wasn't sure these lads as a group could turn around that collective fear that had cast shadow over them for so long. 2 1
Holmowl
Easy. Wildsmith was outstanding. Every player gets a high number tonight, as does Pulis. But Joe was top drawer. Couldn’t ask for more than that.

A E Neuman NYowl
Wildsmith the best goalkeeping performance for us in 18 months. Reach a close runner up. All the players worked their socks off.
prowl
Wildsmith for me. I thought we played well up to the sending off. I like Shaw but I'm surprised he started after his last game. Not a red for me, Yellow but that's a debate for another thread. Luongo played well. Reach was good first half and covered well second half. Bannan couldn't get the range right on a lot of passes. Harris was busy but didn't produce much. I think we can count him out in the search for a big man up front but I can see why we left him up top on his own second half Nice goal for Paterson and a great cross from Reach. Well done to the manager for starting the wingers on their correct wings. It helped. Nice to see Iorfa on the pitch again. That's a massive boost for us.
Ibbo48
Borner and Lees again Both had been getting loads of stick on here a few weeks ago but have knuckled down and showed their class. Wildsmith Looked more confident tonight under endless pressure. Iorfa Just has that presence whenever he plays .
thesouthowl
Wildsmith for a couple of saves that ultimately got us a point. Thought Lees and Borner worked hard, special mentions to both Paterson and Reach.
Pieman
Voted for Paterson. I have again got to say that Odubajo played extremely well for the 45 mins. He completely shut down the threat on the right, which was there most productive area in the first half.
OwlsfaninNorway
I voted Reach. For the cross for the goal and that save on the line.
toooldforthis
I've voted Wildsmith but I have to say the ref got it for me...blocked 5 stonewall goals from outside the box...worst I've seen for a while (defo red though)
