Gotta feel sorry for Rhodes

It was tactical. If you couldn't see that then you know nothing about football.

This.

It doesn't seem like Pulis trusts Brown in midfield at the moment (partially due to fitness maybe?).  And considering how bad our set pieces and deliveries into the box were, it made sense to try and get Brown on the pitch and address that - not that he did but you can see the logic.  So it was either take Paterson or Rhodes off to get him on - Paterson at least puts himself about and challenges defenders, Rhodes works hard but he's just never with the pace of the game.

Its not nice for any footballer to go through that, and wasn't nice to see.  You'd absolutely love it to come together for Rhodes, but its just not looking remotely likely with us.  But I'd rather Pulis have taken Rhodes off than Paterson, just for the sake of not hurting his feelings.

If taking him off with 5 mins to go shatters his confidence, then he is in the wrong profession.

We were under the cosh at the end and needed to hold out for a point. Rhodes wasn't going to offer much at the end, we needed someone on to ensure we got a point and we did.

Genuine question. Who in the last couple of seasons get on the end of these ‘nearly’ balls? You shouldn’t be trying pin point 40 yard passes where it’s hard to bring down and then finish and shake off a defender.

You should be sliding passes through. Rhodes makes those runs time and time again. Nobody is good enough to give it him and we are barely high enough up the pitch to even try. Izzy Brown was a player I was looking forward to seeing because he spots those runs. Whether it’s injury or what but he can’t even get in the side. A chance created every 30 minutes for Luton, what’s he done for us? That’s not a criticism of him. It’s a slagging off of management, tactics and eye bleedingly dour football.

He simply doesn't do that, the ball is around the area and he's no where to be seen, he just doesn't want the ball, you never see  him screaming for the ball or berating a colleague for not getting it to him.

He offers nothing.

Pulis clearly isn't going to make deicisions for the sake of not upseting a player, it's team first at all costs which is good to see. Rhodes needs to grow up if he's getting dejected by this. He's done bugger all to deserve his place in the team, over the past few years!

It's got nothing at all to do with how much he gets paid

Money is totally irrelevant

Its about self respect so tell me, how often do you think he has come off at the end of a game for us and said, yes very happy with what I have done today?

Pathetic by Pulis. Did more than Paterson did, barely lost possession when he got the ball, won a few flick ons, makes runs in behind.

Just absolutely shatter his confidence, very very poor management.

Just like he did with wildsmith and dawson, with bringing westwood straight back, bad man management

I’ve been one of the supporters who has constantly thought that if given a chance JR will ultimately deliver, but clearly TP has not been impressed by what he’s seen. Big shame that he felt it necessary to humiliate him like that but no doubt he will explain his reasoning. Presumably Rhodes will be on his way in January, releasing some much needed funds. Have to question now whether he’s bound for L1.

How do you think we looked once he’d gone off?
