Injured in October for 3 months I mentioned Ellis Simms in the summer and still think he would be a very good option. 6 goals in 8 under 23 games for Everton this season If we continue to play with 1 up front we need physicality to hold the ball up. Would someone like Stockley from Preston be available?

vulva
I bet Pulis has been offered 100 players this last 2 weeks from all around the world.
Jim
I think apart from the first summer that DC was here our recruitment’s been very hit and miss and sadly more miss. I think only Megson and Gray have hit the target when it comes to recruitment on a consistent level and I’m hoping that arguably being cut from the same cloth as those two, that Pulis will bring us better consistency when it comes to recruitment. GMOwl72
Not actually heard of Greg Cunningham (in the OP) but got to say he certainly fits the profile of a Wednesday signing - pushing 30, 2nd/3rd choice at current club and injured! Think I heard something about him being unhappy and wanting to get loaned out, but you’re probably right.

Partly true, pace alone won’t do it, but didn’t we sign a couple strikers with impressive goalscoring records? Rhodes and Winnall both had decent goalscoring records, but none of the other attributes, so cannot really contribute at this level. What we need first and foremost, is someone with the ability to lead the line, who has enough pace to run in behind, and the strength to hold the ball up and bring others into play. Dutch McLovin
I think we'll sign a few above our station, who i dont know but i reckon we will. As ive said before with Wickham, id have him back perm on a sensible wage for his injury problems. But when he does sign get him working with Strudwick to get himself as fit as his body will allow. Dont rush him in the team. Bolasie has been mentioned I can see some truth in that short term

ashamanic
Not going to pick a player, but only Derby have scored fewer goals. The defence however, is pretty solid, only 5 teams have conceded fewer.

I'd settle for any win at the moment, but 1-0 is better than 5-4.

What would have really impressed me would have been a clear direction from DC on how hed like to see us play and how he would recruit and and finance the players that fitted his plan, which would mean a clear transfer policy. So when an offer comes ion for a player, say FF,were in a position to only accept a decent bid at a decent profit, but have replacement/s already scouted and waiting to come in that fit that plan,so someone like Benrahma who would have been at Nice at the time. Thing is with no direction from the top and constant changes of managers and styles that they bring with them, you end up with a disjointed squad that doesnt suit the next incoming manager who then has to shift on players that dont fit in. Done the right way this football business is pretty straight forward, but if your fishing in the dark without any direction,it becomes complicated and failures inevitable.
