Another injury at Sheffield Wednesday

It’s still a little worrying that, despite it almost being nearly Christmas, we haven’t managed to bring in any more strikers at this level. Doesn’t give you much hope that we can do it at first team level. Since releasing all our development strikers at the end of last season, we’ve had six months to recruit a new batch.

Maybe we can’t afford it?

That’s ridiculous if true, given that we’ve brought in players we don’t really need. Most teams, particularly at our level, would have 4 or 5 striking options at first team level, and a similar amount at development level, some of whom could be called upon in a crisis. We have one (Rhodes) and one at development level (Adedoyin) It’s no coincidence that both the first team, and the development side are short of goals, and struggling at the foot of their divisions.
