Echoes his time at Wednesday too. Started off well making us hard to beat, but was found wanting by not being able to implement a clear style and identity to the way his teams play football.

Very limited manager.

WTF!.

He's gone , left, move on ffs.

Completely agree with this. Bruce had put some solid foundations in and Monk destroyed that and implemented that losing mentality back into the players and club.

Steve Bruce  solid foundations - that is a joke.

Steve Bruce was the ultimate cowboy builder.  He rocked up a month late, got paid a load of money, half built a shed before disappearing , taking his entire workforce with him, one week before the start of the season.  The man left us with an estate agent as our only first team coach going into a new season.   He also gave our 3rd choice goalie a massive new contract as a farewell present.

He built the square root of zip all.

Very limited manager.

Despite him constantly banging on about having clarity at the club and a team to be proud of, he turned out to be another manager not up to the task and actually made us embarrassing to watch.

He’ll be very lucky to get another crack at this level.

He brought in Iorfa. That is literally the only thing he did during his time here.

Yeah but they were part of operation CLEAR AAAAHHHHHHT so that mattered little

'Hutch' 'Westy' 'Nando' etc

Wish he didn’t bother with clear aaaaahhhht if I knew what mess we’d be in. Kill for a player of FF quality right now. I draw the line at big Dave though.

Can’t we go get Lee signed back up?

A better manager would have built on what Bruce put in place at the club. Monk took it backwards.

Apart from brief flashes, FF wasn't a player of FF's quality after that first season.

Again - what things did Bruce put in place?

He blooded no young players (Monk did), his signings were at best mixed based on the evidence of their performances since we signed them (Iorfa - excellent.  Luongo - good but frequently injured,  Borner - OK.  Moses - poor, Harris - poor).  He signed our 3rd choice goalie to a gazillion pound contract, and if he did put any structure in place on coaching, he took it all away when he scarpered off to the bar codes.

If anything you can argue Jos did more for putting foundations in place - ie by blooding players from the youth team in order to prepare them for first team football when the inevitable cloth cutting happened when it was clear FFP would be a problem.

FF - a charlatan of the highest order.

Nuhiu - our second highest goalscorer since David Hirst.

Should never be mentioned in the same breath.

What young players have been successfully blooded into the first team? Which ones have become valuable assets to the first team squad and which ones have we sold for profit?

I’ve seen some crap on Owlstalk in my lifetime but Monk and Jos blooding in young players is one of the worst I’ve seen.

Westwood was first choice at the time, so again a bit of an inaccurate statement.

Borner and Harris both excellent at the start of the season when Bruce’s way of doing things were still in place. Monk comes in and they soon turn crap.

Bruce’s way of doing things?

harris and borner were at the club for about 2 weeks under Steve Bruce and never played a league game under him . Do you think monk and Bullen put on Bruce masks for 3 months, put a sack of potatoes down the front of their training tops and regailed the squad with tales of winning the league at Man Utd ?

Bullen went on record to saying that he continued to take training, tactics and approach to games the exact same way as Bruce did.

A couple of weeks under Monk and Harris turned into Wade Small mark 2.

Speaking of foundations, I was told that Bruce requested the training ground building be drastically altered and changed (which we did)...he then pi55ed off 5 minutes later.
