Will we see an improved Westwood tonight?

Which Kieran Westwood will we see tonight?

The strong, capable 'best keeper in the Championship' goalkeeper that many believe is still there in this chap

Or

More gaffes from the blunder prone side of Westwood to add to the 6 horror show blunders in the last 4 games he's played for us that have cost us so badly?

Hopefully training with the first team has helped and he has been working on his timing coming off the line. Crosses, and closing down attackers as he comes off his line has been an issue for those errors.

his task isn’t helped by having defenders like van aken in front of him who is at best unpredictable. Like many, Westwood was made to look very good by Loovens in front of him. We haven’t been the same time since.

The defenders aren't the ones causing Westwood to deliver gaffe after gaffe, blunder after blunder

It’s a combination I think.

the issues westwood has is his timing coming off his line. Even the sending off against reading was a good example of that , which was not in your list of errors above. Last season I made a joke about him charging around his area like benny hill being chased by a Randy nurse and at times that is what it was like. His timing was off, he was coming for stuff he shouldn’t be and not coming for stuff he should.   The relationship with his defence is key to that. Loovens was a rolls Royce in there, and the rest of the defence set itself around him. Since he left, the defending is less predictable so harder for a goalie to know what your defenders are leaving and what they are clearing. That compounds the issue westwood has.

watch the match tonight. I bet he has no issues on shots but his timing will be off if he hasn’t sorted it in training.

Bloody tough game tonight against a very good team that imo will create a lot of chances. I would still rather Westwood be in goal than either or the other 2.

Yeah, really not happy about TP coming in and the first games are away to Preston and Swansea... places we seldom get any points. Adding suspensions and injuries to the mix and it's a tough ask. I really hope the team can dig deep and put on a world-beater performance tonight, everyone top of their game, but right now I think we'll be lucky to even get a draw from this. And that's not because of Westwood, the team as a whole need to start delivering now!

Don't see what the issue is

If Tony Pulis is as good as people have been telling us he is what's the issue?

Got to disagree . Wildsmith isn’t a long term option but he’s not let us down this season . Westwood’s limp flap and woeful kicking brings back memories of all his 19/20 season performances . Bloke is a liability now

Wildsmith was at fault for the Wycombe goal for me

The goalkeeper has to organise his defence as set pieces. The whole team should have known that Wycombe had a dead ball specialist who could deliver with accuracy.

With that in mind is was essential that we had cover on the far post. It was basic defending  and organisation

If the inept coaching staff hasn’t sorted this then the keeper has to take responsibility and get it sorted

Yes he made a couple of good saves but he need to get a lot more vocal with those around him before he can step up

Who are these people?

There must also be a reason that several of my mates, supporting different clubs, all simply sent texts with "🤣" when they saw Pulis was appointed here.

Do our defenders still have confidence in Flapper Westwood?

Dawson was dropped (and should be sold IMO, he's simply not good enough at this level) because of his performances.  Wildsmith has been dropped because he's not Westwood.  Westwood should be judged on performances, and his last one was a howler that has caused misery and desperation throughout the club and wider fanbase.

Delay, dither, change of mind, "slip on grass", punch ball to PNE player to volley ball back in the net.
