The Josh Windass red card and sending off

Recommended Posts

Disappointing start. The red was disappointing. The only positive was that they didn't get more. Was a flat game to watch. Windass' challenge was silly. In this day and age, it's always going to give the ref little option. Hopefully things get better, it should if anything give Pulis an idea of how tough the job will be this season to stabilise us.

What does that even mean?  As clear a red card as you will ever see.

So why do all the professional pundits believe it was harsh? Even the Preston commentators.

Having said that, you’re right, you clearly know your stuff.

It looked like Johnson was telling the ref, 'it's not a red' to me...

It's unusual to see that from an opposition player.

It ruined the game for everyone. They didn’t appeal for a red, because it wasn’t.

Oh come on, think for yourself.  How any player in the modern game can make a challenge like that and expect to stay on the pitch is totally beyond me.  We’re all guilty of a little Wednesday bias from time to time, but surely most people can’t have any complaints about that - reaction of our own players suggested they weren’t overly surprised either.
