I dont think the current Brazil side are all that to be honest. Richarlison gets in their side.

France are still the stand out squad in world football right now but we are getting there.

We've still got Bellingham and Foden to come into our best side plus whoever out of Reece James, TAA or one of the other quality right backs come in for Walker.

Id only really give the likes of Brazil & Argentina the nod due to Neymar & Messi, although the latter is ageing and collectively we could be stronger than both those countries.

In all honesty I haven’t seen much of South American football recently but yeah France & Italy are slightly better right now but a lot can and probably will change between now and Qatar with our development

Does he get any credit for winning all the others.

Southgates win % is the best ever other than one manager. Bizarrely, that’s Capello.

It’s not good winning all the others if you don’t win when it really matters.

We should have won the Euro’s. It’s as simple as that. Yes Italy are a top team but, at 1-0 we froze. The same as we did 3 years prior.

Thing is would we have got to where we did without that positive culture and environment? That's the catch 22 isn't it. Get rid for a better tactical manager, we've had plenty in the recent past, but lose the environment.

Would worse environment better tactics produce better results? Who knows, history suggests not but this tournament in Qatar is certainly the last opportunity Southgate should be given unless he wins it.

It’s a real tough one for sure. I’d probably still go for a new one because this group of players don’t look a group of egos and have a real spirit and professionalism. Although would that change if the FA axed Southgate?

Who would you have. Your standards seem incredibly demanding.

The foreign manager thing hasn’t worked twice. Infact, it’s been a disaster both times. Capello had the best squad ever, and made a right ******** of it.

We currently have the best squad ever.

That’s what everyone seems to be missing.

He's not going anywhere, even if you want him to.

No FA would sack a manager who has got the national team to a semi final, a final and has all but qualified for another WC.

Yes, he isn't perfect, but he's done more than enough to see it out until the end of Qatar 2022 imo.

He will go after that. Reckon he will do a Bobby Robson and work abroad.

Not sure who the options out there are in fairness. Dean Smith and the guy at Brighton are the highest placed English managers who play decent ish football. Dyche, not sure the players would take to him. Beyond that who do we have to turn to? Any English managers abroad at the moment?

In some ways it feels like a defeat because of the lateness and nature of Poland’s goal. Mount in particular should have put his foot through it when he had the chance.

A draw was the least we needed tonight and we got it. 7 points from the week and one foot in the finals IMO.

I can see both sides of the argument with regards to Southgate. I do think he is a little short on where he needs to be and a little too bit pragmatic but he has a WC semi-final and a Euro runners-up place on his England CV. There’s only one manager at England level with a better one and that’s Sir Alf.
