Fair enough if we’re free flowing etc but, we’re struggling to create goal scoring opportunities, he’s got 20 assists this season? Calvert Lewin being ignored is also baffling. He’s scored 20+ goals this season, fair enough he’s new to the international scene but, this is a dead rubber, give him game time. Why are the commentators buying into the ‘prioritising defence’ mantra? Apparently that’s our weak link, why not focus on what we’re good at? Get the ball forward and, ply attacking football. Lee Dixon has just praised comfortably the worst officiating performance of the tournament. He wants binning off as well. It’s impossible to get excited whilst ever Southgate is in charge. He’s continuously contradicted himself throughout his tenure. He’s got our brightest generation of football talent playing utterly drab football. Who appoints these people? Spain who we've beaten under Southgate and are struggling more than us. Holland who have had an easy group and were hammered by Turkey in a competitive game recently. Italy are in fine form but haven't faced anyone of note for ages. Should we be confident as things stand? Probably not but that's different from not even dreaming of beating them. I think the winners will come from France, Portgual or Belgium so I think we would struggle against them but not even dreaming of beating the others is a joke.
