thesouthowl
My Gillingham mates love Pullis, they reckon they would have him back like a shot and played decent football. Mind you they do support Gillingham so their bar is low!

Bluesteel
DC protecting his investment I guess. By getting rid of Monk who is a bit like Pulis lite with a bit of technical stuff thrown in. Replacing with full fat Pulis. Having remembered the anguish of Boro fans with him in charge I am quite gutted about this. But perhaps he is closer to Bruce as an experienced hand and man manager. Bruce was particularly good at saying the right things, not so sure about Pulis!

Popular Post frastheowl
If you listen to the Undr The Cosh podcasts, he's one of few managers (alongside Neil Warnock) who seems to be universally respected and liked by all who have played for him. He works players hard, but they have all said you know exactly what you get with him. Tactics and coaching are a key part to management (both of which Pulis certainly isn't lacking), but possessing the ability to get your players to run through a brick wall for you is something that's often overlooked. The type of players we have here, generally suit a Pulis-type. Monk has assembled a hard-working, athletic squad which ultimately lack natural ability. Pulis has made a career out of polishing those type of turds. He wouldn't have been my first choice, but for a fire-fighting, short term solution to ensure we don't achieve the unthinkable (relegation) this season, I can totally understand the appointment. Of course, every fan wants their club to be a revolutionary unique blue print, with a bright, vibrant young manager playing expansive, sexy football...but you have to have the foundations in place to achieve that (or allow those foundations to be built at the expanse of results). Get through this season, hopefully with Championship status in tact, and take it from there. If Pulis oversees a huge turnaround in results, I don't see too many fans turning their nose up to him staying longer than six months. 9 2

Attacking throw ins, ours are abysmal, supporting the striker, ours are always isolated, mastering midfield, let's hope that is a change from passing to the centre half then doing a pirouette on the ball, positive attacking play, we don't score enough goals, scoring from crosses, well what more can you say. Get him in.

If we think we need this clown to gain us 3 points on the teams above us over the course of 30+ games that's pure fantasy. It's a desperate appointment driven by Paxo. DC's been sold down the river again. I would have sympathy for him, but I cant be arsed, he shall reap what he sows. This will only alienate more fans.
