I'm not convinced we need a short term fix.

I would hope whoever we recruit is because DC thinks they are the right person for the job period, not just for one season.

The last thing we need is appointing a manager in view of changing again within months.

You can make a case for Pulis, I'll get on board if it is him, although I would hope we appoint someone with a more modern approach.

All the fans don't rate Pulis but everyone in the game does....

He's achieved more than any other Wednesday manager we have had and its has simple as that, Pulis is in the Steve Bruce category for me.

1.6 ppg at Boro is very good.

Easy to forget he got them 5th in 17/18. Then Gibson sells their 3 best players from that season in Ben Gibson, Patrick Bamford and Adama Traore. Only Gibson is replaced, with Aden Flint incidentally.

The following he does quite well finishing 7th considering.

He got Boro into a play-off spot all that second season but they tanked last 5 games. Not surprisingly the fans couldnt cope and he got sacked.

we dont have the squad to play that style of football and it would need multiple transfer windows to get to that stage

its all about the here and now, we need to do everything that is possible to remain in this division.

if it means employing someone like Pulis for dour 1-0 wins then we are going to have to suck it up

This is what happens when the chairman dithers and does't act in the summer and lets the incumbent manager bring in a whole load of inadequate players

Not so in my opinion, one window would be sufficient to produce a balanced mid table championship side. Two signings could see us achieve that. A mobile centre forward,  a left back, and a switch of formations. Any half decent manager could get this side in the top half after one window

Westwood, Wildsmith or Sawson take your pick

Palmer

Iorfa

Borner

New left back

Brown

Luongo

Bannan

Harris

New number 9

If its Pulis then expect a flat back 4 with Flint and Lees  centrally..............and  Iorfa and Van Aken as full backs !!!

Dunkley anchoring the midfield

Your team includes two imaginary players, and a midfield three which has two players who hardly play.

It has a RB who blows warm and very cold.

And there’s anywhere between 12 and 18 games before we can buy/loan new blood.

We need good strong experienced management now.

Pulis wouldn't be my first choice for a long term project - short term goal fine, but not to build something

However, compare his achievements against what his goals were for the majority of his career. I'm not talking about trophies, more what the expectations were for the clubs he joined.

How many managers have we had in the last 20 years that have either performed better in this league or league above before joining us or gone on to better things since?

Rest of the season, I'd be okay with it. I think we need a long term approach so like I said not my first choice, I'd also be quite interested to see if there is any appetite for Pulis and an assistant (Campbell, Neville) to be groomed for longer term approach and to get experience in the championship

TP Wouldn't be my first choice however we could do a lot worse than TP, sick of this ridiculous trend "possession football" or "dinosaur manager" the aim of football is simple it's to win, We played possession football under CC and we couldn't break teams down in the 2nd season only having a handful of shots per game, now that's boring football. Unless your a elite club forget about this fantasy of possession and playing out from the back nonsense possession doesn't win football matches, goals do, how we get them i don't care.

TP would instantly make us harder to beat, scrap the 3-5-2 nonsense and get a back 4, with our players we will be comfortable with that, Borner, Flint & Lees all suit it much better.

I also think you'd start to see a settled strikeforce getting minutes under there belt, everyone is so fast to write them off but the formation we were playing absolutely killed them.

I think we are looking beyond stopping us now. Monk would have kept us up. Chansiri wants a playoff push.

Agree mostly.

But I suspect any manager including Pulis will have little choice other than play 352ish until the window.

We don’t have a LB in the club and we have 127 CBs.

And let’s be honest, if it is Pulis, those 3 big CBS are going to form a very important part of our strategy. Personally I’d be quite excited to see Bannan and Brown stood over free-kicks with a Pulis-organised Iorfa, Lees and Borner waiting to attack the cross.

You be missing the point a bit, it wasn’t that we couldn’t break teams down in season 2 under Carlos, it was more about teams not being able to break us down Under Carlos though, it wasn’t booting it anywhere, it was controlled football. Controlling the games, allowed us to win plenty of games with the minimum of shots We finished higher than we did in season 1

Like I said I would have took Tony Pulis of 10 years ago but think he is past it now.

I know 2017 feels like 10 years ago mate, but it’s only 3.
