Mister Soul
Howe or Pearson for me. As they are both winners. Every other suggestion I’ve read on here has been inadequate, woeful or embarrassingly ill informed. Cowleys not ready for championship Paul Cook just not a good fit for our club and is not a championship manager. Lee Johnson is the master of inconsistency Pulis ... an awful win rate. as for Megson .. ffs! Let’s not even go there

WalthamOwl
Pearson or Howe would be my number one choices, both probably unrealistic though.

That would be some shift ! however having cross referenced it elsewhere, his win rate at Boro was worse the Monk’s!

No wonder they got sick of him. Edited November 9, 2020 by Pablo Bonvin
The Night-Owl
Cook or Lowe has head coach, with someone like Pearson; Turner, Pulis or Megson as DOF

But it's clear to me that things are not right on and off the pitch. Monk should have gone last season but we've needed a footballing minded CEO and/or DOF for a fair while. Think our problems are much deeper than just the manager but Monk's record since last Christmas was shocking and he simply had to go.
new zealand owl
I think DC needs credit for the timing of the dismissal. I thought it would rumble for another month yet before making a decision. Well played DC especially being at the beginning of the two week break. Obscure 90's manager choice: Egil Olsen Who I think DC will choose: Paul Cook Who I want: Nigel Pearson Who I would be devastated with: Tony Pulis or the Cowleys Not sure why the clamour for Paul Cook, has anyone genuinely watched a lot of his sides in action on a regular basis over the last few years?

He recruited staff that had no track record to suggest they would improve things His signings didn’t suit his formation. He’s already dropped some of his signings. His sacking is justified and inevitable.
