Good interview this - have a listen

Nigel Pearson's 2020

He's had Covid

Heart problems

Rheumatoid Arthritis
His mum's died
Sacked from Watford in July with two games to go in the season
Wasn't given any reason - he says he still doesn't know why

Says no offers have been given to him to manage again
Says he doesn't think any job offers will come along for him at the moment
Says he's made improvements with his health last few months
Says he won't make any decisions on new jobs because of his health

Great , another Nigel Pearson thread

Sure I read this somewhere lately

would be a fantastic appointment and one that would reconnect the fans with the club for sure. For those not wanting him, you do realise we are 23rd in the championship right?

I actually think if he was given the right sales pitch (highly unlikely with us) he would join.

Come on Nige.....you know you want to

At the end of the day, there are more important things than football. As much as I'd love a proven manager like Pearson, his health and family are more important. I wonder if a DOF role would suit him? I think we need a CEO and/or a DOF as much as we need a new manager. Great player and a decent manager with a proven record. I'd be excited if we axed Monk and brought in a manager of Pearson's calibre.

Offer him DoF with Ryan Lowe as head coach. I know Mr C dismissed the idea but wasn’t that the structure he wanted with CC and cooper(?)

use big Nidge’s experience to help Lowe make the step up. Wouldn’t need to be on it seven days a week then and wouldnt be as much strain as being in the spotlight?
I can dream can’t i

Very odd thread.

his last 3 seasons of work, I believe, are in reverse order

1.  Failing to save Watford from relegation

2.  Being fired from an obscure Belgian team after guiding them to the bottom of the league

3.  Somehow contriving to only just survive relegation at Leicester with a team that only the following season won the premier league by 10 points.

am I missing something ?

Never been a fan of Pearson, but having listened to that maybe my perception was coloured by his more bizarre behaviour at Leicester towards the end, re Ostriches etc.

To give him his dues, he is a good manager.with a decent record, strong character, available and a credible candidate.

I wish him well and hope he's back to full health soon

But can't see his phone ringing ever again from any clubs

He wasn't manager when Watford were relegated !

Contrived to just keep Leicester up by finishing 14th and 6 points clear, having been promoted as champions the season before !

4 places higher and he would have been in Chris Wilder wonderland

He took over when they were 7 points adrift and they were above the relegation zone when he was sacked, and smashed Liverpool 3-0 along the way

Linked with Pearson in The Times.

You have to pay for the article so you can’t read the whole thing. But it says...

”The Times understands Pearson would prefer a Premier League job but is willing to hear what”

Then it cuts off
