Here are the facts on his wealth. According to Forbes his dad is worth $575m, which is about £440m. https://www.forbes.com/profile/kraisorn-chansiri/?sh=83992147f478

We also know that Dejphon fronts a ‘consortium’ when it comes to the club so I think most assume that some of his wider family are involved in the financial backing. If there’s anyone external to that we don’t know anything about who they are, but you’d assume that if someone else had money on the line they’d be well beyond the point of allowing their investment go down the drain by leaving Chansiri as the only director. They’d surely be wanting to exert some influence, so that points towards this being a family thing.

Then the question is if his dad is only worth £440m,  how can he possibly afford to blow £150m on a football club without getting himself in to a big mess financially.

The numbers don’t stack up. He’s got to have sold this to his family as ‘I buy this for £35m and spend another £35m, then we receive £100m+ a year once promoted’. There is no plan that involves us not being promoted and he’s got to have run out of cash. And we have no way of becoming competitive again without more money being put in. The guy is trapped.. hopefully asset stripping isn’t next

You're right - sadly
I think the word 'trapped' is the most appropriate for all parties whether that be Chansiri, Monk, The Fans, The ambitious players at the club etc - everyone

Maybe he could sell "the club" at a knockdown price but retain ownership of the ground. He could then recoup his losses longer term maybe over 20 years through renting the ground to the new owners.

Don't disagree, but who would buy the club for any sort of money, particularly at the moment.

Without the ground, all they are buying is debt, with little or no revenue to service until fans are allowed back.

I hear what you're saying but if he really did want out he'd have no choice but to take a massive loss on the price otherwise he's stuck with the club and an even bigger loss

Either way..

What a mess

Let's be fair, nothing could be worse that this, we are heading for a long drop.

Truth really hurts sometime. DC has no clue but the best asset stripper in the world who made out like a bandit and lied with a straight face was Mandy. He use to the same over here in the USA.

I guess it depends how much he wants to stick with it and pass the club onto Atti etc

Maybe he's spaffed 150 million, faced with lockdowns, no money coming in, millions going out, a total loss of control of anything happening football wise and wants out ASAP and will take whatever he's offered to get out of the place.

Maybe he just leaves. Then were up a poo creek without a paddle.

The only people who slag off the kits are people who don't own them. The Elev8 kits in terms of quality are better than Sondico and Puma. Comfortably better (excuse the pun). Agree with Royal_D if they stuck an Adidas or Nike logo on nobody would complain.

Had this debate on twitter back in the summer, someone said the kits were inferior quality yet the only thing he could come up with was the brand was "like slazenger". I guess it's a modern society thing, obsessed by labels. If something is good then it's good and if something is crap (which label stuff often is) then it's crap.

Like Neil said if the price is right there are probably people out there who would take the gamble.

There are investors out there who specialise in buying failing businesses , thats all they do . Buy cheap , stabilise , then sell on for a profit.
