Garry Monk chose the new signings. The Chairman has fully backed Garry Monk this season

Recommended Posts

Monk was well backed in the summer in the circumstances.

No club in the league splashed the cash. It was an unprecedented window during a pandemic. Monk was backed to the best of the clubs ability. Why that was the best of our ability is a different story.

There is enough in the team to score at least 1 goal or pick up 1 point in the last three games

...ahh presumably the budget set by the chairman on players comes from a different budget for back room staff...because that’s how the finances work. So Monk has been given poor quality tools not the ones he wanted and the back room tools aren’t the ones Monk actually wanted. Now I understand.

This isn't the backroom staff thread mate

Lets stay on topic

What this thread highlights is just how much people refuse to see the TRUTH in order to just attack Garry Monk

Nobody is up for discussing how we managed to get a player with a leg broken in two places, with metal rods in his leg, to pass a medical and whether or not it was one of the players on Monk's MUST BUY list and his first choice of player

Let's not deflect, distract and try to to take the thread off topic

Let's talk about whether or not a player with a leg broken in two places was Monk's first choice or not

Monk plays the hoofball percentage game.

Trying to nick goals from set pieces etc.

Dunkley scores a decent amount of goals from set pieces.

It all leads firmly to Garry Monks doorstep.

Player

Leg broken in two places

Not played since he broke his leg in two places in February
When we signed him he had big metal pins in his leg and yet somehow magically passed a medical

Yeah

Well backed

1 player. Hughes and Downes signing, the recruitment team who we all wanted in place instead of Paixao. Context please.

Not the brightest signing?

Why is nobody else other than me questioning it?

How did he pass a medical?

Why have we signed him knowing he won't be playing for us/the manager?

Who signed off the cheque to pay for this signing and why?

'not the brightest signing' - WTF?!?!?

I totally get what you are saying.. on the face of it it’s a bonkers signing. However once fit Dunkley would go straight into any championship defence . So maybe they thought if we don’t get him, another club will.

im not entirely certain this was the season to take that chance though

Look at the replies so far

People crying like babies that they can't twist this signing to fit their views of Monk

It's absolutely pathetic

So the thread is about medicals and how they operate at the club and one player? Just so I know what not to post.

You're clearly struggling here in a very simple to understand thread

Maybe sit this one out or go into the dressing room section and talk about rainbows etc?

Chey Dunkley has spoken for the first time since joining Sheffield Wednesday, calling the Owls’ a ‘massive club’ while noting the role Garry Monk played in getting him to the club.

lol

So you are suggesting the conversation was like I wrote in the OP?

One of the Championship top assist makers last season

An international player

A seasoned Championship centre half

A player who previously transferred for 7 figures and played in the SPL

Yes, a few cheapo gambles, but to say we’re in the middle of a pandemic it’s hardly scraping the barrel
