Garry Monk's view of todays defeat - surely can't last any longer than tonight now?

I like the way he’s progressed with his bullshit narrative:

- no-one was saying this when we were third at Christmas

- let me get to summer and fix it

- I’ve seen a different energy after lockdown, judge us on that

- last season wasn’t important, this season is what matters

- up to Birmingham it was a good start

The guy is delusional.

The highest-paid Championship manager was reportedly paid 3.46 million pounds a year, with an average across the division of 878,000 pounds a year. - Reuters

I wonder how much we’ve paid him over the past 12 months to achieve this standard of performance. Utterly disgraceful!

Everything Monk says is to buy more time.

We need to get rid of the bad eggs - 6 months

We need a new backroom team - another 6 months.

Forget about last season's form, lets just brush that under the carpet.

The next three games -  another couple of weeks.

Everything he says is about playing for more time for himself.  That's all he really cares about, keeping himself in a job whilst still pocketing a nice wage regardless of his own performance.

Keep Monk til the end of the season, as we go down, he would no doubt blame the players for it, telling us how that he needs 4 years to really get a team going (his words by the way).

I always believe that a manager has to earn that time through performances and more importantly results.  Failure to meet those requirements, well we all know what needs to happen.

Any other workplace in the world he'd be sacked for the lack of results and incompetence.

Why not here? Just let him keep digging that hole he's been working on since the end of last December.

Galling thing is when he does eventually get sacked he will be on tv/media being asked for his"expert🤣 opinion"  with a nice pay off FFS

On Sky vs Brentford, the two guys in the studio said we had a good manager.

What is this hold he has over the footballing world ?

I don’t think he’s delusional, he knows he’s doing a crap job and when a manager is struggling press conferences are just pointless. He has to say something after all. He’s just out of his depth.
