He's available

I kinda like the way people are assuming that we could have our pick of manager's, we are about as attractive as a scab and pickle sandwich.

Don't get me wrong, I want Monk as far away as possible from our club but to think Nigel Pearson or managers of his ilk would consider coming to Hillsborough is laughable.

Only yes men and desperate men may apply.

Do you see Penelope Cruz as a 'candidate' to be your next wife?

How do you know she isn't my wife.

NIGEL PEARSON is free and available right now. DC should be making 2 calls this morning, one to Monk to tell him he's relieved of his duties and the other to Nigel Pearson to offer him the job of manager at SWFC. Offer Pearson what he wants just get him. Him and Craig Shakespear would be a perfect fit for our club.

It was always going to be a monumental  task to get Pearson to take the job. There’s no way he’d take it now.

And a closing line for those that will claim he said he’d never take the job (I haven’t scrolled down) he NEVER said that.

Nigel Pearson has done enough at Leicester and Watford to get a far, far better job than ours. If you take off the rose tinted specs we offer zero appeal. Interfering and/or clueless owner. Crap advisors. Strung up by ffp. Old players on massive wages. No one coming through. A fairly one dimensional squad built to play long ball with very little pace or resell. I don't even think you could tempt Tony pulis into this job and the squad has been built for his football. Paul Cook will think he could get a better job in the champ. Maybe, you could tempt the Cowleys if they were given a long contract and free reign (which they wouldn't get) we're pretty stuffed really...

He was interviewed on Radio Sheffield about 2 years ago...

They asked him directly “you’re out of a job so would you ever consider managing Sheffield Wednesday”.

He didn’t say “yes” or “no”.

His reply was that he lives in the Sheffield area and he and his family are very settled in the area.

He said he likes to separate his working life from his private life....and he loves that he’s free to socialise in Sheffield with no hassle.

He also said he comes across Wednesday fans on a regular basis and he always receives nice feedback....and would like to keep it that way. He said his family life and freedom is really important to him.

So with the right offer there’s a chance??

Get ready for all the “he said he’d never manage us” comments.

make him an offer he can’t refuse...cost of relegation against the cost of a good manger who puts you in with a chance of survival.

I would love Pearson to manage us, however, he has categorically stated that he doesn't want to manage us.

no he hasn’t!!!

He has; I have heard it with my own ears on either Radio Sheffield, Radio 5 Live or TalkSport.  I can remember it clearly because I was gutted to hear him say it.  I want Pearson here as much as the next Wednesdayite.  Why would I lie about hearing it?

My hope is that he's changed his mind because I think he'd knock our sorry lot into shape quick smart.

I don’t think he would take the job. Despite the myth he has said he wouldn’t ever take the Wednesday job he actually said “never say never” but that he quite valued living in the city.

He would be the first you ask the question. But I would be shocked if he took it.

I spoke to him when he was managing Hull a few years back. I asked why he'd never managed Wednesday and he said "I've never been asked!" and went on to say that he lives in Fulwood and his daughters go to Tapton (which is where I went for 6th form) so it would be a challenge, but he didn't rule it out. Exceptionally nice guy too.
