How long realistically has Monk got left??

Recommended Posts

We are going to be in league 1 next season, yesterday confirmed that for me.
And Monk won’t be going anywhere until we are cut adrift in the league.

Hopefully some of the young players we have can step up by next season and become decent players.  That’s the only hope I see for the next couple of years

Not if they’ll be schooled in the Monk way of playing. This is a huge concern for me, the recent progress we’ve made at development level is all being undone by the managers insistence that they too play percentage football

Chansiri will give him until Christmas. He'll only start panicking when he sees that relegation is a strong possibility and that he's about to lose even more money due to his poor decision making and communist management of the club. That's when poo will hit the fan, especially with the absolute state of the club behind the scenes. It will turn into another owner vs fans scenario if we end up in League One.

Fans are on his back already. I've managed to calm down after watching that utter dross yesterday but I honestly thought those performances were behind us. Any less than 4 points from the next two games will result in a major meltdown. The negativity energy that Monk tried to clear in the summer is returning. It's like we've taken one step forward to then take two steps back - should be the club's motto.

All season as no manager worth their salt would touch us with a barge pole.

Yesterdays result has largely convinced me we will be a L1 side next season.

Monk’s signings largely convinced me of that

Many people on here  have thrown the towel in after   7 games.

Season over according to many.

Love their positivity.

Its a scrap , we knew that at the outset.

Season is never defined after 7 games.

The scrap continues.

If I wanted to watch a scrap, I’d just go down town on a Saturday night Be nice to see a bit of football

Tough  for us all as relegation dog fights are very rarely pretty. We all would love to watch entertaining football, personally at the moment dont care how we achieve it but we have to get out of this mess.

Relegation could be the end of the club.

To avoid the drop, well based on last season anyway, we’ll likely need the equivalent of a top half finish. We won’t achieve that by just being able to scrap

Problem is what if we stay close to the needed points, 1.33 per game or 1.4 to be almost certain of staying up.

I can see, come xmas we will still be around 1.2 / 1.4 pts per game average.

Doesn't seem much difference between 1.2 and 1.4 but 1.2 sees us relegated almost certain and right now we are on 1.25.

If we are below 1.4 after the next 2 games he has to go.

Because very quickly it will be too late, no matter who is in charge.

Its not just this season, in two months it will have been a full year, that's why people are writing the rest of this season already
