The myth is TRUE...that people were backing the team but in reality were waiting for a defeat to crawl from under the rock they were hiding under to reveal their true colours...but then again we all knew that didn't we. 🤣🤣

Another one surfaces..bout 3 more to go

Of course its a myth.

If the team play well and give 100% fans will be happy.

I dont remember being a toxic atmosphere under managers like Carlos' first two seasons or under Gray or Megson.

Good mangers who could get the players playing to the best of their ability and players with a set of balls!

Christ on a bike, some people really have an issue with negativity.

It has been a fact that players and manager have slated the crowd at home games.

Anyone who says otherwise, probably has a monk fetish.

Not being funny, but you can't have it both ways - you can't slate the fans when they are there for the issue then say it doesn't exist when such turd performances still exist when the fans aren't allowed in.

THE PROBLEM IS MONK!!!!

Wednesday fans are no worse than most fans of ‘big-ish’ clubs in terms of getting restless at poor performances. Teams who are punching above their weight will obviously have more patient fans as they’re happy to be on a generally upward trajectory.

Completly agree mate

We're no worse than other clubs when it comes to turning on players. I would say our fans are very supportive considering what we have to put up with. There will always be scapegoats at every club and we're no different

Said it for years that it was myth

It's just a easy copout for players

The reality is some players can't deal with bigger crowds

Easier to blame the fans init

Even more worrying they can’t cope with no crowds

One thing I've always noticed is how noisy the Hillsborough crowd is when we get a corner or even a throw in after a good move or break away run - people even stand up clapping and shouting 'come on' You don't see that often elsewhere.

On the other hand, even though I think the SWFC crowd-base are an honest bunch who definitely wear their hearts on their sleeves and expect 100% and adore good players, this then becomes a problem when there's a general opinion about a player who they don't rate, like Morris in the 80s; Barry Horne in the 90s; Beswetherick in the 00s and now Pelupessy. The stadium announcer announcing their name to a collective sigh might not be right but it's understandable.

We should put them up on our honours board when we get them

Over the years ex players/managers and even our own fans have claimed the reason our home form is so poor is because there is a fear factor around Hillsborough when it isn't going our way and our fans are quick to jump on the players' backs instead of getting behind them

Our four home matches so far in the league this season have yielded just 2 points and 2 goals in our favour

So this myth of blaming the fanbase is a load of tosh and has firmly been put to bed. The fact is the manager and the majority of our squad aren't good enough and it has nothing to do with what goes on in the stands

Who is blaming the fan base! Only the fans themselves. Home and Away without fans, means there is no longer an advantage to anyo
