Popular Post Lord Snooty
"Where is he Jean?" "My names Norma, Jean works Thursdays. Not that she should be in if you ask me, not with her angina. I mean, I've told her. I said 'Jean, you shouldn't be coming in, not with your angina.' And do you know what she said?" "I don't care." "'ere how did you know that? It's this Covid isn't it. It's making people go go funny. I said to her, I said-" "No, not her. Me! I don't care!" "Well I know she's not everyones cup of tea but there's no need for that, I mean-" "Shut up woman! Where's Hargreaves?" "He's busy" "Doing what?" "He's ...just busy" "Well I need some help so he'd just better make himself 'unbusy'" "I don't think that's a word" "Well it is now, out of my way woman!" .... "Aha! So this is where you've been hiding yourself!" "Erm, you can't come in here without a mask on Snoots" "Never mind talking to me about sartorial elegance, what the bloody hell is that coat you're wearing?" "Amazon ,Snooty. It's the answer to ALL your needs" "Are you trying to tell me you think you needed that coat?" "Yep." "Well it's ridiculous" "Well, NOBODY asked your opinion. Besides, what would you know about FASHION , you're wearing a top hat" "Why are you randomly talking in capitals?" " Don't you know OLD TIMER?! It's the latest thing. Everyone will be doing it soon" "Well I wouldn't bother if i was you, it's making your ears wiggle. You'll be losing those ridiculous glasses" "These? These aren't RIDICULOUS mate, they're essential. If you go on Amazon..." "Never mind bloody Amazon! I'm here on serious business" "What's that then?" "You're going to have to put your hand in your pocket" "Why?" "Because we gave Brentford a good game, but they just had that bit more quality about them" "What's that got to do with ME?" "We need Luongo back" "Again SNOOTY, I fail to see where I come into this EQUATION" "Well, I was just thinking that perhaps now we're getting the membership fees in we could put some of the money aside and maybe get Luongo off to see some top specialist? As a gift to the club. Or buy some equipment for the perennially over worked medical team down at Hillsborough" "Oooh. Hang on, I'll tell you what Snooty, I don't think that's a bad idea actually" "You don't?" "No." "Brilliant. I've seen some oxygen chambers in the back of the British Medical journ..." "I know what'll SOLVE our Luongo problem. We'll make ANOTHER...with one of these....looks legit" "What in Gods name...you are kidding?" "Firm in China selling them. i'm sure they've been working on their QUALITY control. What could go wrong? Besides, only £14.. " "Let me guess-" "...on Amazon! ....Good eh...where you going? Snooty? Snooty come back?!?" ******************* WEDNESDAY - V - LUTON TOWN Saturday 24th October 2020 Kick Off: 15:00pm Hillsborough Ref: Geoff Eltringham ----------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- TEAM NEWS WEDNESDAY Despite defeat to a Brentford side that will be clearly challenging for promotion come the end of the season Wednesday can be pleased with their form this season, recording eight points from half-a-dozen games. The setbacks have been against two of the top seven, something which the lads need to keep in mind when preparing for this run of fixtures against Luton & Rotherham , two sides likely to be towards our end of the table come may and a Wycombe team that already look doomed. Despite the absence of Big Dom and revitalised Tom Lees we haven't looked too bad at the back, generally speaking, and while Monk has had to mix and match there's work at the top end of the pitch with us scoring just three goals during the last 6 that's the bigger concern. Hopefully Callum Paterson bagging his first will be a sign of things to come from him. Influential midfielder Izzy Brown is back in training but it may be too soon to risk and it might be that the Rotherham game is a more realistic target. Monk may opt to start to midfielder Joey Pelupessy after he was introduced as a substitute early in the second half against Brentford as Wednesday struggled to compensate for Massimo Luongo, who is expected to miss the next two. Predicted line-up : Dawson Odubajo Flint Van Aken Harris Reach Pelupessy Bannan Kachunga Paterson Marriot -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- LUTON TOWN Nathan Jones faces his first real test of the campaign after witnessing his side suffer back-to-back defeats since the international break. In the two matches against Stoke City and Millwall, the games turned through conceding goals either directly before or after half time, subsequently leaving Luton on the back foot. The Hatters have now failed to score in four of their last five outings in all competitions, with their only strikes coming in the second half of their meeting with out-of-form Wycombe Wanderers. Jones could hand a first start to Joe Morrell, whom Luton recently signed from Bristol City. With James Collins still out through a positive coronavirus test, Jones may consider further changes to his goal-shy attack. Danny Hylton's place in the team is at risk, with Kazenga LuaLua potentially in line to get an opportunity down the middle. Predicted line-up: Sluga Cranie Pearson Bradley N-Davies Mpanzu Berry Rea Cornick Lee Hylton --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Getting to -1 going into the Rotherham game would be a huge psychological boost for the boys COME ON WEDNESDAY 23 1 5
striker
Looking forward to this one with a sense of optimism underpinned by nothing but hope. Luton had a good start, but lost three of the last four without scoring, their only win in that time vs Wycombe. They will battle, but nothing to fear and the greatest threat is our injuries. Woulld be a huge boost to have Iorfa and Brown back, without those could be a more even contest than some may expect. 2-0 seems to be a popular scoreline for Luton, so I'll go for a 2-0 Wednesday win. 1
Pablo Bonvin
Thanks again for the post Milord. Nice to see you got it in just before lockdown. I still associate Luton with bloody Pleat running onto the pitch in celebration and that’s not a good thought to go to sleep on. Come on Wednesday. And fizz off covid.

Joe Sunburn
3 points tomorrow ‘in the bag’. We’ve been pining to get out of the negatives by the end of the month and Wednesday will do so by the Rotherham game. But first things first. Cam ‘Clean Sheet’ Dawson reconciles with the fans in a 3 - 0 Wednesday wallop. UTO.
nevthelodgemoorowl
So sorry I couldn't contribute in the pre match synopsis on Wednesday, I was really busy and just look what happened. But I'm not superstitious honest. We were short on numbers and still are. So the plan is to sublimate our deficiencies and do all we can to expose theirs. One thing for sure, we won't have that super Mac character scoring for fun. 3 hat tricks v us at Hillsborough is taking the biscuit ! So go 2-0 up before they equalise then bore us to death starving them of the ball. That should do it 2-0 maybe a late third. RIP ROB, FLY HIGH. UTO & DTB COME ON WAWAW LETS HAVE EM ! Gresh
We really need to get at Luton from the kick off and put this game to bed by half time. I'm predicting this is the game where we get most things right and ease to a 3 v 0 win.
A47Owl
My names Norma, Jean Have you been having naughty thoughts about Marilyn Monroe your Lordship? Or was it just coincidental? VictoryBell
Frightening OP, Snoots. Visions of the evil potential of science have worried me ever since "Mars Needs Women" and "Plan 9 From Outer Space", although they were both good training for being a Wednesdayite. I'm never confident against Luton. We've put in the occasional outstandingly-bad, emotionally-scarring performance against them, but here's hoping.

quinnssweetshop
As Utah says. Losing streak FFS UTO !!!!!!!! But given the positive signs we are seeing, I'd hope that we can stop any rot from setting in after the defeat to Brentford. 2-0 to Wednesday.
