Where the eff is the neg button? I hardly ever used it, maybe twice, but... blimey!

Injuries don't stop defensive responsibility Eh?

It thought Lees was easy to get past til I saw moses Bizarre

The blokes a car crash Not really.

He started sprouting **** on tw@tter about how fans negativaty in the stadium was causing him and his teammates performances to suffer No. He. didn't.

Well no fans for 6 months and his performances continue to be well below average, so what's the excuse now? A half reasonable question.

Face it, he is a very average defender who has no place in this team never mind playing cb, a position he has never played

Monk and moses have to take responsibility for his car crash efforts To be fair, worth talking about. Maybe not a neg 🙂

He did, then the Sheffield Star did an article about it.

He was awful......he is a bad football player......end of.

I said the same on a social media platform and got told not to comment negatively. Some people don’t see how weak and vulnerable he is even though the effort is there.

Cannot believe that nobody has noticed what Windass did. He was the one zonal marking at the front post. He inexplicably drops on to the goal line, if he remained where he was he would have had a simple clearing header. Yet Moses gets peltors.

so  if its poor defending from odabajo for not heading the ball would it be poor attacking from toney if he had  .......2 players go for a  50/50 ball one is going to be the winner sadly it wasnt odabajo on this occasion .

You'd expect a stronger challenge, to compete for the ball, to stop him having an easy header from close range from a corner. Most corners are contested so it is difficult to make a completely clean header either way. Putting the weakest defender on the top scorer in the division and main goal threat is worth questioning.

Who should mark their centre backs?

Pontus Jansson has scored 0 league goals in 44 appearances for Brentford

Ethan Pinnock has scored 2 league goals in 46 appearances for Brentford.

Perhaps one of our more robust CB's could have marked the top scorer in the division and maybe Paterson could have handled one of the CB's?

Odd Job is hopeless at defending. Must have gifted at least 15 points over the course of last season and this from his personal failings.

He also gave a penalty away from a set-piece in the post lockdown games last season and was very lucky to get away with a similar incident in the previous home game against QPR.

Stick him on the main goal threat though, be reyt........

which just goes to show that if teams put there big defenders on them at corners  they dont score .......flip answer i know but if we had flint  on toney and they bypassed them  to jansson being marked by odabajo we'd be asking wtf was he doing marking him . ......he's got to mark somebody  and height wise he matched up with toney .

If that happens it is only a real issue if they score or continually threaten to do so - then you point to the stats which say they weren't a goal threat compared with Toney. You also look at how Moses has defended set pieces previously and his general defensive strength.

Height is a factor when matching up but there's more to defending than that, as Moses has proved to be the case from set pieces.

As has been said, I doubt many would ever consider picking Moses as a CB, you don't generally see slight wing-backs not known for their physicality marking goal scorers at corners.

the stats say toney hasnt been a goal threat from corners ,that was his 1st from one  this season . ......

But he is a goal threat right, whereas the centre backs who have 2 goals between them in 90 games combined........

Everyone who has watched us can see how vulnerable Moses has been defending set pieces, we stuck him on their top scorer, they scored.

not from corners he hasnt .......hindsight is a wonderful thing .....if we'd have stuck him  on jansson and he'd scored we'd being saying  wtf was flint doing marking the little bloke and leaving odabajo with the giant . .....i think most agree odabajo aint a centre back but thats where he played and he's got to mark someone  of a comparable size .

Going round in circles. We chose to put a player who has been vulnerable at marking from set pieces on the top scorer in the division. That's not hindsight.

Don't worry though Monk is a tactical genius who can be defended on every decision he makes. Maybe tomorrow he will lead us to our second home win of the season and we might score 2 at Hillsborough for the first time this year. We can only hope, because the evidence doesn't support it.

evidence didnt support that toney would score from a corner but he did  so you never know maybe we'll get 2 tomorrow ......

He was great that season for Hull, which probably explains why Bruce brought him here.

It seems that his injury has really affected him, though.

Whether we ever see the best of him in a Wednesday shirt remains to be seen, but it's looking unlikely at this point.

Having said that, I do think some of the criticism of him is way wide of the mark. He's regularly singled out for criticism by some on here, despite having a reasonable game for what he is: a backup squad option.

Spot on, he was good for Brentford in a variety of positions after his injury, prior to it he was a very good young full back.

He's much better this season than last he is playing quite well especially at wingback or full back. He just had a mare last year for us.

Have many goals have come from those two winning the first header? It's not always about who is the final goal scorer.
