'The keeper parries it'

We didn’t even have plenty of shots on target.....and one of them ended up in the net. You are clearly making stuff up

He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

To compare them over 90 minutes doesn’t really prove anything does it?

Really basic error at this level. Even at u12s keepers are taught to push the ball to the sides not back in front.

Dawson unfortunately is developing and will cost us goals over the season.

Two options - Back him or sell him but looks like Monk is happy with him.

It’s a shocking habit Dawson has

We see it, the opposition analysts see it, enough to specifically mention it to their forwards. It happens repeatedly.

The thick barstools on OT,think it's scapegoating.

Dawson is no where near a Championship keeper.

And yet for all that we concede less goals than most of the league despite a makeshift defence in front of him

Hows that work then?

Definitely poor from Dawson. Again. Should have done much better with the first. But he's out keeper for the season now. Just hope the new keeper coach can coach some of these mistakes out of him. He's a good shot stopper but makes a lot of very big errors costing goals

Why were you then?

Ok, let’s assess them both over the 90 minutes.

Raya commanded his area. Made a key save from Reach and, had fantastic distribution.

Dawson dropped a clanger leading to a goal, failed to influence his penalty area and, panicked with the ball at his feet.

Now let’s look at them over the course of last season...

Dawson was appalling. Raya wasn’t.

Don't argue with me, argue against the Brentford staff, who have specifically identified a crucial weakness.

They got it right.

The basics of goalkeeping are you push it behind for a corner or towards the corner flag.

I can't believe that is a coached method

It will happen on occasion from a good shot but that was one that had to be dealt with better

As a team so far this season, we’ve restricted the opposition to the 2nd lowest number of shots on target against. Only Watford have conceded less.

How do you explain last season?

I don’t know how many times I’ve written this, it’s not Dawson’s fault. He seems a decent young man but, he’s not a Championship goalkeeper and, no other team would have him or, Wildsmith as their number 1. Another Monk error.
