Probably be allowed to opt out of FA and League Cup, and numerous other sops the keep them sweet, but they’ll get to do both. Can't see how they wouldn't leave. The proposed league is supposed to be 18 teams so 36 games plus another 36 in the EPLI for starters

Dronfield Blue
Let them go. Re assess the number of teams in each league (once they have gone) and re name the league. Something revolutionary like League 1, 2, 3 and 4?

Guest Bulgaria
To be honest, the so called champions league is a European super league anyway. All this new idea will do is protect the top clubs for European footie for 20 years. The Big club owners have realized that many other clubs are being bought by billionaires and they want a closed shop before these new owners start catching up. bradowl
Would love it if after a dozen games Bayern Munich and Real Madrid were 10 points clear at top with Liverpool and Man United bottom with 2 draws between em.
Arthur Bach
Football should split into two codes like rugby. For the sake of the sport.

Man Utd will no doubt want to be in a ESL to secure the bag of cash... they’ve only just got back into the Champions League this season - so it’s basically securing big money without (even) achieving top 4 in the Prem. A get out of jail free card.

The top 6 leave the EPL to be replaced by invitational clubs two of which would be Celtic and Rangers. How wànk would that be.
