Olly saying it as it is! (ie actually speaking out without the clickbait!) ;)

Always had a soft spot for him and no moreso than now he's managing my hometown club, saw a couple of excellent pieces from him, firstly on the Liverpool/ManUre "project big picture":

Then I was recently reading the Grimsby newspaper website and saw a couple of excellent articles with Olly talking about project big picture and about some bigger clubs sniffing around a couple of young GTFC players:

"Ian Holloway blasts Premier League as wait continues after EFL reject £50m rescue package"

The EFL are back to square one after its clubs elected to reject the proposed £50million package put forward by the top tier.

The offer was made after Premier League clubs rejected Liverpool and Manchester United’s Project Big Picture, and was specifically for League One and Two sides.

But the EFL have said it falls short of what is needed, and have insisted that Championship clubs need to be included in any package.

It means the wait continues as clubs face an uncertain future, and the Premier League is once again in the firing line of the Mariners boss.

“Why are they having sneaky little meetings? Why are Americans talking to Rick Parry? What are you doing?” Holloway told Grimsby Live .

“They don't want any promotion or relegation, that's what Americans do, who are they anyway?

“I'm fuming about it all. If they can give us £250million, rip the money off them anyway! It's not their money, it's a TV deal, it belongs to English football, not you.

“The Government need to take over, in you go, smash it up now because I don’t trust any one of them up there. Selfish, selfish people.

“They’re going to ruin the game, and they’re going to make it all about themselves. How dare you.

"Grimsby Town manager 'fuming' with Liverpool and Chelsea over interest in young duo"

Holloway has already described the two clubs as “vultures”, and insists the pair would be better suited staying at Blundell Park.

“Am I surprised at that? No I’m not surprised at that. Am I fuming about it? Yeah,” Holloway told Grimsby Live .

“These big wigs who want to take over football on the sly, they’ve already got rules passed that they’re category A clubs, and they can steal those lads off us very, very cheaply, because it suits them again doesn’t it?

“Those rules were passed by who? The academy setup is run by people who have got enough money to have all those things in place to get a tick in the box for category A. They’ve all got it because they’ve all got the money, and that means they can take those boys off me.

“I want to play them when they’re 15 because they’re good enough, and when will they ever play for them? I’m going to have to wait and see.

“I knew it would be a risk, but I don’t really care, because I care about those boys and I want to get them in my team, and I’ll teach them as good as any one of those clubs will, if not better in my opinion.

“That’s what I’ll be telling their parents. Whether they listen to me I don’t know, but I can prove one thing. If you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

“Look at my goalscorers the other night – 19, 19 and 21. They might not all be mine, but I’m telling you I’m in the game to make all these young gentlemen fantastic people first and fantastic players, and I can do it better than any one of those clubs, because a lot of their brilliant young lads aren’t in their team are they?”

Maybe his days have passed for a club like us but he's a top man and credit to the sport IMO!
