We've got too many strikers again

Recommended Posts

Only time will tell if this group of forwards will produce or not?

Marriott’s a useful signing but if he produces he’ll be back at Derby in January.

I think Paterson’s a bit of a wildcard. He may prove to be an outstanding bit of business but it could easily go the other way?

Windass is ok. I don’t think he’ll score more than twelve goals but if he does hit twelve then it would be about par for him?

Kachunga was always a low risk signing. Suspect he’ll be on the bench more often than not.

Rhodes will just be counting the days until his contract runs out. Monk has managed him awfully IMO.

I don’t see 5 strikers in that list.

Marriot and Rhodes yes.

Kachunga at this level has proven he’s a winger.

Windass has always been someone who plays just behind the striker. Be interesting to see if he’s used there now with Brown being injured.

Patterson, clearly being used and brought in as a striker. But the lads played more games for Cardiff in midfield than as a striker.

Not just Monk. Nobody has got a tune out of him. Maybe he's just not the player he used to be.

My worry is Monk will carry on chopping and changing the strike pairing and not allow any partnerships to form.

Experience has proven that even when a partnership does form Monk is very quick to tear it apart

Kachunga - 3 league goals last season

Windass - 7

Paterson - 5

Marriott - 2

Rhodes - 3

Total = 20 goals

Fletcher - 13

Nuhiu - 6

Forestieri - 2

Winnall - 1

Rhodes - 3

Total = 25 goals

Sure glad we got rid of all those wasters we had up front last season, thank god we've got all this firepower now to keep us up!
