Guest wilyfox
I wonder what the bid was. Probly 500k and a combover.
bigash_swfc
This is what happens when their transition is nearly complete... Years of buying players for £0 and selling for millions. They feel they can cherry pick the mighty Sheffield Wednesday
NOT jack whitham
Remember Bannan talking about Brentford in pre season and saying they would be a perfect team for him to play in.
Guest wilyfox
I also wonder why Brentford would wait until 14th October to make a play for him, 2 days before deadline. Bizarre.

ashley8
One year left, then if we aren't trying to sign him up then why not. Loose him and we have a full league one team. Hope Bannan is Chansiri s best buddy

We need the cash and he will walk for free in the summer. Agree with this, we could even use Windass in that role. Someone who’s prepared to run beyond the strikers and not leave them so isolated 1
WalthamOwl
Very last minute, would give us hardly any time to replace him. On the other hand I can’t see him staying with us after his contract runs out when we would lose him for nothing.
alan48
We wouldnt qualify for a vote in the new premier league anymore so not that mighty and Bannan aint that mighty anymore , so dependant upon the offer , I'd sell .

I don’t think he’s fits in a Garry Monk team. Imagine he would be interested in signing for Brentford, they’d suit him into the ground. I'd rather get shut of Monk and keep Bannan. It's a no brainer.
Kenners3896
Wouldn't be the end of the world imo if we got decent money for him. Another one that's best years are behind and without Fletcher to ping it to doesnt really seem to fit in. That said if monks signings so far are anything to go by I wouldnt trust him with bringing a replacement In.
striker
Everyone is available at the right price, however I suspect the amount they would be offering for a 30 year old player in the last year of his contract wouldn't tempt us to sell. Right now his value to us is greater than his current transfer value.

WalthamOwl
Wonder if they will come back with another bid, will Bannan have his head turned and demand a move. Couldn’t really blame him I guess.

Keep him until we are safe if that is destined. Few £££s will be negligable in comparision to life in Div 1.

If we can get a decent amount for a 30 year old who is out of contract at the end of the season we need to take the money. We need to start learning from our mistakes

Bizarre. They're one/two days from potentially losing Benrahma for about £25m+ to either Palace or West Ham. They're also quids in after getting £28m for Watkins this summer. Lowball £1m offer for Bannan makes total sense, he'd do incredibly well there.
Beauchief Owl
Just now, NeonLeon said: It would also cost us more to replace him. So even financially it’s not a good move. If we’re in a good position in Jan, and Brentford are in the top 6 I’d happily let him go for 500k as a thank you for his time here. Realistically, bar a minor miracle, we’ll be trying to replace him next summer anyway. What constitutes a good position in Jan.? Last year we were third at Xmas and were diabolical after that even with Bannan, Fletcher, Fox and the rest. I suspect Hull thought in this way when they were mid table in Jan. sold their best two players and promptly got relegated.
