Fans of former player, dissing said former player, what a surprise, don't take any notice of any other clubs fans and their opinions.

Wait till he's played for us,then decide.

In fairness, he's not like that.  He was gutted to see Harris leave and gave a decent review of Patterson.

Just not bothered...

Flint is pretty much the perfect central defender for us all things considered.

Ideal for the centre of a back 3.

Great at defending and attacking set pieces and a real leader.

He probably isn't too expensive either and has loads of experience.

Delighted.

Couldn't disagree more. One of the worst players I've seen at this level.

Lacks even basic skills like controlling the ball or making very simple passes.

Also very slow and lacking in agility - he makes Nuhiu look quick.

Yes he's good in the air but he sure ain't a footballer.

Amazing really how you can forge a career as a footballer when you're sole attribute is being massive.

I watch a lot of national league north football and many players at that level are much better than Flint is technically. They just arent 6 ft 7.

Early start on the Spice and Stella I see.

Go to bed mate.

Sorry I didn't realise we weren't allowed to hold opinions on players.

If you haven't seen him play regularly you are in for a surprise (and not in a good way)

I have and was always worried about him as we never got a thing in the air. He dominated everything.

We needed this type of player.

That's what I said to our lass on our wedding night, and do you know what, it turns out it was the last time I was right about anything...

Playing at that level he scored 45 goals from 100 matches - from centre back!

i think it’s fair to say he is above that level!

Yes to be fair he's excellent in the air and a goal threat from set pieces. Perhaps a bigger asset attacking than he is defending!

The issue is with anything on the ground. His technical ability is very poor.

Hopefully in a back 3 we can minimise his exposure. He will certainly get targeted by teams that dont rely on high balls into the box.

You stick him in the middle of the back three and let him head it clear and smash it long.

He will be the competition for Lees.

It's another good bit of business imo.

He's got good experience and his aerial presence will be very useful in those late moments in games.

He is also pretty expensive for a "non league" player attracting about 13 mill in total from Boro & Cardiff 😉

I said his technical ability is non league standard. He's made a career from his aerial ability which in fairness he's great at.

Not sure his transfer fees really count in his favour since he failed at both clubs that paid big money for him. I mean cardiff paid 6 mill and got 26 appearances from him before deciding he's not even worth keeping as a squad player.
