wednesdaywizard
He gave me and my cousin some programmes from a pre season tour of Japan (92/93 season) when we had a birthday party at Hillsborough. Still got them now, all in Japanese. He was really nice, very welcoming.

Ethel The Tree
Anyone else spend a small fortune listening to his interviews on Club Call back in the day? Years before the internet, it helped us 'exiles' feel closer to the action A sad loss indeed. RIP Richie
Dick_Turpin
When I used to have to go down to Hillsborough and the training ground in the 1990s he was always a warm, welcoming presence. Tricky and Pleat far less so - Richie was always delightful.

Blue and white
Sad day for all owls, how we could do with the dream team of Ron Atkinson and Ritchie Barker today. Rest easy Ritchie.
shandypants
Oh no! That is sad news indeed. If you listen to various Owls players from the first Big Ron era on podcasts (I think its John Harkes and John Newsome on The Wednesday Week), if you read between the lines, Richie Barker was the guy that brought that success about - he was the guy on the training ground that did the day-to-day stuff. I can only guess that this continued under Trevor Francis. RIP Richie Edited October 12, 2020 by shandypants
