andytrig
Parry has a serious conflict of interest. As a life long Liverpool fan and ex Liverpool CEO how is he impartial in a decision proposed by Liverpool FC?

Seems odd that they where never consulted despite being named as one of the chosen 9. Them being amongst “the 9” would make them feel all important but actually carries very little weight as under the proposals only 6 of the 9 have to vote for something for it to pass so the big 6 would call all the shots. I suspect saying 9 clubs rather than 6 is just a p**s poor attempt to disguise what this really is, a power grab by the big 6. Despicable that the EFL chairman Rick Parry has given his public backing to the big 6 using the current pandemic as an opportunity to shape the game how they see fit. It’s an absolute disgrace.

In fairness, it's not the big 6 power grabbing (currently). Guest
Just listened to the Leyton Orient chairman telling 5 live what a good deal this is. Turns out the Leyton Orient chairman used to be CEO of Dunkin Donuts and he was involved in them signing a big deal with Liverpool FC a few years ago. He is also a friend of Liverpool owner JW Henry. Speaking about how American sports value the community of little league teams like in the minor leagues in baseball - minor league teams are basically feeder teams for major league baseball with no prospect of becoming the big team themselves. Is that the way we are heading.........

Tommy Crawshaw
Quite a few League 1 and 2 owners/chairmen coming out and with their support this idea. Unsurprisingly the thought of a few million quid crossing their palms will seem attractive. Short term thinking and not looking at the bigger picture. More concerning is Derby's CEO Stephen Pearson who is one of the 3 Championship clubs representatives on the Board of the EFL is also in favour. Even if the EFL are happy to go for it I would be surprised if there are 14 PL teams happy to vote for it, which is what they would need. Even West Ham one of the 'favoured 9' don't like it. This would reduce the chances of them having new opponents come into the league with new money. The big 6 could control the lions share of the income at top level and keep the rest at arms length. The lower leagues could also exist with the sole purpose of providing them with players rather than being entities in their own right. Interesting that these two clubs are said to have started working on this plan 3 years ago, just after Leicester, a 3rd division club not long ago, won the Premier League with new money. Can't have that happening again now can we!
DobbinTheDonkey
Hmm makes you wonder if they want to rush this through so they can veto the Newcastle take over for good. Don't need another club challenging with apparent unlimited wealth.

Man Utd and Liverpool have offered it. If it’s poo or bust they’ll choose poo. An alternative has to be found but will vested interests allow it? You would think it unlikely Parry would go all in on this if he didn’t think he could carry the EFL clubs with him. So it’s probably down to the EPL teams to fight it off. Interesting that an influential figure at the EFL has just resigned, maybe no coincidence. Makes you wonder why the 2 clubs putting forward this proposal need to include a monopoly of power for the big 6 in terms of voting rights for the future surely? "The English Football League today confirms that it has been working on an innovative proposal titled ‘Project Big Picture’ with a number of Clubs in the Premier League" What does it mean by the EFL, is it Parry doing this unilaterally or the board with the blessing of the member clubs?
