Mental. Not even beneficial in long run. Killing smaller clubs and Under 23 's etc will mean paying even more for rare and precious talent. When you got Harry Maguire at £85 million already something badly wrong. Like in Gemany, us fans really gotta organise and use our voting / political power to sort out structure of footy here. When you see it written out like that, it really rams home just what the Premier League has done to football in this country, doesn't it? We've always had 'big' clubs who were expected to prevail more often than not, but it was at least realistic for other teams to challenge them and dream of success. Barring the once-in-a-generation alignment of the stars which saw Leicester win the league (after spending sh*tloads and going into administration, of course), it's become a closed shop, hasn't it? I likened it to the rugby earlier and this is something else they brought in. They call it twining teams up. My old side batley is twinned with Huddersfield meaning they can have as many of their surplus /development players as they want on loan these days. I'm not sure what happens if any of these twinned sides is able to get promotion. Would they allow them up, or as they did in the past, just find an excuse to disallow them. Happened a few years back with hunslet,. They asked about the ground criteria and built a new ground (south leeds stadium) which matched guildines. They then gained promotion by finishing top....
