I don't know anything about Clarke-Salter, but based on what we've seen so far, van Aken should be nothing more than a backup option, and as good as Börner looked for most of last season, he certainly seems out of sorts at the moment and probably doesn't suit a back three.

 

We could do with somebody else in there to strengthen our back three.

Not to jump gun ... But a back three of iorfa, dunkley & clarke-salter does have a good looking balance to it.

Good player. JVA has done ok. I think Börner is a casualty of the system. Clarke-Salter would be an upgrade on both.

Be happy to sign Clarke-Salter but surely we have to let one of Van Aken or Borner leave it he was to join? Can’t go back to stockpiling players again.

Have to ask the question what do you know of Dunkley & Clarke-Slater. We often make judgements based on the poor form of previous incumbents. Not a dig BTW.

Dunkley big & strong, scores quite a few (will be big threat with iorfa with those Paterson long throws), played the middle center back in a

3 a number of times.  

 

Clarke-salter on loan at Birmingham  didn't feature much earlier on but in 2nd half of season put in some good performances for them, is left side center back who is quick and comfortable on the ball
