Maybe not, but Tesco might be expected to pay their taxes and costs just as the corner shop does.

Amazon have paid less corporation tax in 20yrs than M&S did last year alone.

Just one John Lewis store pays 4x the business rates as Amazon.

And that's without google, starbucks and facebook etc etc all coining it in and putting nothing in...needs stopping...won't hold my breath though..

BIG SIX      THE REST                                            BIG SIX      THE REST

League Champions               26                 2  (one since 1995)                             18                10

      (runners up)                    24                 4  (none since 1997)                           14                14

      (third place)                    23                 5  (none since 2003)                           13                15

FA Cup                                   25                 3                                                         22                6

League Cup                           19                 9  (two since 2004)                             13                15

Thanks for this. This alone proves that around 82 of the 92 in the pyramid are pointless for the trophies.

Does this prove football is dead as a non big six fan?

Maybe they could look to the league cup to only have this played between clubs not in Europe or something like that? Or as an alternative change the LDV trophy, or whatever is now, but even a trophy for the 72 league teams to fight for would be more interesting as FA Cup and League Cup we are just making up numbers.

Basically it would be good to play in a knockout trophy we actually have a slight chance in.

This is exactly why the HMRC discretionary powers (which have been tested in the courts) need to be removed.

We'll probably have one or two Premier League clubs that are big enough to avoid taxes which, currently, they can do and still remain withing the law.

Premier league games not chosen for live coverage available on pay per view on sky and BT. Even existing season ticket holders have to pay. How further from reality can the premier  league get.?

I hope it implodes.

Premier league has been slowly ruining football in this country for years and mugging the fans off.

Agree, no matter how harsh that sounds but ever since the Premier League's formation and the Champions League, it's distorted the competitiveness and wealth. Most of the same clubs that pushed for more TV money and brought about the formation of the Premier League have benefited most from it, hoovered up most of the money and are mostly the same clubs pushing for more TV money and more power. Other than Blackburn and Leicester, only the elite clubs have won the League since it's re-branding.

The top flight is becoming as distorted and boring as many other top European league's. When I grew up the likes of Serie A and La Liga, were as good to watch or even better than our top flight but nowadays all the top league's are dominated mostly by a handful of clubs domestically. The same clubs that mostly benefit from being in the Champions League year on year. The future doesn't look bright for the rest of the clubs outside of the richest elite clubs. Eventually European football will be restructured.

Clubs like ours if we survive, will be best off thinking long term and will have to nurture players with resale value to make any progress, something we should have been doing years ago. We're years behind numerous clubs that have nothing other than making up the numbers in the top flight to look forward too at best. Those of whom that are massively behind the top clubs themselves. Football as been slowly dying for years and we're witnessing the end of it during a global crisis, it's only going to get more distorted, out of touch and uncompetitive by the looks of it until it completely implodes.

Brought in some of the best players that the world has ever seen?

As long as they all have roughly the same skill or ability to make it competitive, who cares?

Given fans the excitement of buying expensive players?

How is it more 'exciting' to buy a player for £100million than £1million?
