Little Progress

Without the points deduction we would have 5 pints,(or even 'points' looked too funny to edit!!)and be mid table....our form at least as good as half the division after 4 games,no reason to be so pessimistic....

Come on Wednesday!

Not only are we relying in Gary and the lads to pull off results we are also relying on teams just above us to lose

Not a good place to be

So you're suggesting the points deduction might not be a good thing, then?

You could get a job on Sky with analysis like that!

Looks at table

Reads 'That puts us still 11 points from safety'

Looks at league table again

I expected Reading to be in the relegation places, that puts us 19pts from safety

Looking at the table I’m not sure the likes of Forest, Derby, Norwich, Cardiff, Preston etc will be near the bottom at the end of the season. So the clubs we have to look to catch are Wycombe, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Coventry.
That puts us still 11 points from safety. Lots of work to do, not sure we’re up to it. Fingers crossed.

I always revert to this branch of mathematics when justifying silly spending decisions with Mrs mcmigo

’ yes I know I don’t need that two seater sports car, but by buying it now whilst Ethiopian inflation is low, and Mexican  interest rates are high, I am very much hedged from back to front and the 4K sports exhaust option will no doubt mean less depreciation on a macro level .

Indeed but we continue this mid table from we probably get relegated we need top 10 form, because we need 12 more points than everyone else and drawing too many games just put us further behind.

Strikers, strikers, strikers, Monk has know since January he needed them. When only Fletcher got offered a new deal. 9 months later we are being linked with 1 player we should have binned off when they said £25k a week.

QPR who we played in Saturday sign Willock for £750k yesterday former Arsenal player and Bonne for a fee rising £2m - 2 players we should have been in for. Instead we remain transfixed on our one and only target we cannot afford.

Early days but if we are still cut adrift around Christmas I fully trust DC to act early enough like he always does and make a change in management before it’s to late.

Would say if we are adrift at Christmas then we are beyond saving with this squad. Issue is, statistically is his one of the worst managers we have ever had and he shown little this season to suggest he has managed to turn things around. Even with three points in touching distance, yet again, his squad managed to let slip late on. Issue is, DC has put his faith in him, he has consumed what limited funds we have and now we are stuck with a poor manager.

But is that monks fault? what if the money wasnt there to bring them in?or they simply didnt fancy coming here? you make valid points and i agree..we do need to start scoring & winning..

Mate the dreaded 'stats'!!! So many factors from last season that were not monks doing.Alleged 'bad influence' players, who he felt unable to pick, alleged 'injuries' & loss of form of key players. Player embargo and unable to bring in players.

NO back room team of his own,Covid 19 enforced layoff, and season delay...Fletcher injury, 3 of his team allegedly refuse to agree to play on to help the Club, playing with the threat of relegation, irrespective of League position,if a pending points deduction applied for season 19/20...

Monk should not be judged as 'one of the worst managers we have had' based on last seasons stats, record books or not...simply not fair...

The only stat that matters from last season,is the one rarely(if ever) mentioned.Monk as manager harvested enough points for us to stay up as of right,in the Championship. We could only be relegated by a points deduction.

We go on,as a team,as fans/supporters & as fellow 'Wednesdayites'...we dont give in,or give up, & we dont leave anyone behind.....AIRBORNE

We spent £500k on Windass when he plays the same role as Bannan, a player who will play if fit. We brought in Kachunga a right winger by trade but then don't play him. We have an injury prone centre back and yes he is currently injured. We sign a player on loan from Chelsea with presumable a loan fee and wages being paid for the same position that Bannan plays. We resign Pelupessy to a contract then never play him.

All the money currently being wasted elsewhere could have been used to get what we need a striker.

Monk will have a say in the players he wants, you don't get the first one, you go to your 2nd, 3rd, 4th target, you don't sign players to then play out of position. That only leads to what currently now have, players not having a club what they are doing, playing a formation not suited to them.

Results (this season) dont bear out what your saying,we were unlucky not to have 3 points against QPR(we wont debate bad luck v bad judgement!!) Yes the players need time to bed in,& produce what monk wants,we simply must have enough players in the squad,to allow for a bad run of 'injuries/suspensions' at least for this year,& to create a healthy competition for places..

We could do with at least 1 more striker, but Patterson looks promising, & is a big Unit....all we can do now is see where the team takes us...& support out manager,& our team..

We don't have a prayer of stopping up if we don't sort out our home form.

I just fear that Garrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry's mindset is too negative for us to stop up.

Yet he kept Birmingham up,and Wednesday up...(last season).....show a bit of faith.....

I think this division is showing how up and down its going to be already,4 games gone and no 1 or 2 teams 100% record like usually there is.Everyone can beat anyone im thinking again, just like last year.Going to be a very close call,we need to get in the +points asap to put pressure on teams above already...IMO

UTO....
