@owlstalk
Why have we signed a brand new striker, armed with a catalogue of goal celebrations, then told him to take the throw in's and aim it at the strikers when he's a striker armed with a catalogue of goal celebrations, but is the one throwing the throw in's to the strikers?? 2 5 Owlstalk Shop
ANDY
Another trick in his arsenal is long throws

beloved_aunt
Don’t get this. So much to grumble about our tactics on the first half but if you’ve got one player with a long throw use him. Especially if you’ve got three big centre halves to fill the box with so won’t miss your striker’s height. 4

NOPE Nobody will ever convince me that a striker should be launching long throws into the area where the striker himself should be No chance It's ridiculous 8 1 Owlstalk Shop
Greengrass
Apparently he takes a good corner as well.

NOT jack whitham
He has to throw it higher so it gives him chance to run into the box and head it
BarnsleyOwl96
Reach has a reasonable throw in I’m sure so not sure why we didn’t utilise it

To be fair it's a far better option than throwing it straight to the opposition or our usual tactic of throwing it back to a midfielder who passes it back to a defender who passes it back to the goalkeeper.

fpowl
Our throw ins are dreadful if he is the only one that can put the ball in a dangerous area to ask questions so be it Shame he can’t be cloned still need that focal point up top
Steve Down South
Pleased to see use of long throws on occasions, but agree that I want to see Paterson in the box. Surely there must be others who could work on developing a long throw. It’s not the most cultured approach but there are times when it’s worth a go. nevthelodgemoorowl
I thought it fitted well with Monks Hoofball tactics in the first period where they tried their hardest to fluke a goal !
