Keiren Westwood on his way OUT of SWFC

If he's the best keeper in the Championship and had no issues with being managed, clubs would be lining up  around the block to sign him

This is why manager’s always cover his petulance with the injury stories so as to avoid making him unattractive to other clubs who may be considering moving for him.

It’s a shame that he then goes and ramps it up shortly afterwards by declaring himself fit on social media.

Dont know who it was but someone on here will remember when ,before Monk came someone at the club said something like " we cant play a goalkeeper who cant move "

As though he is just shot of a player?

Because you haven't answered it

You're claiming Westwood should be in the side because he's a great keeper and brings results

You're saying that managers should just manage him and get the best out of him

But there's not a SINGLE MANAGER or club  in the world who's willing to

Why is that?
Where are they all?
Why is nobody wanting him?

Would Ozil improve our results? Why aren't we signing Ozil?

So is Westwood on his way out, or is this just 8 pages (and counting) debating whether he’s the devil vs the best keeper in the world?

Yes I get this it is Monks way, I am arguing he isn't right to do it this way. Wildsmith and Dawson may well be better now after all the time Westwood has been training with the u23s or whatever.

All about opinions, Monk has assed the situation and moved forward, we only give an opinion from the outside looking in.

We get tangled up in all the off field stuff, and it may well be that has nothing to do with it.

He's still here pal, creating civil war and unrest amongst the supporters.

Not Westwoods fault though, it's society in general in 2020 😀

If Westwood wanted to play football he could move elsewhere

If Westwood was that good clubs would be lining up to buy/loan him

If Westwood was that good for a club numerous managers wouldn't have frozen him right out of the entire picture

If Westwood could be put into a first team and immediately improve things and get results why aren't clubs wanting him?

If Westwood didn't have a reputation within football circles why did Chris Kirkland say he definitely DOES?

Who in their right mind would leave a very well paid job in the twilight of their profession to take a less well paid role?

I doubt that hardly anyone on this site would be knocking on the door of their manager demanding to rip up their contract so they could sod off down the road for half the money or less.

He will see out his contract if he has any sense and I would hope that should the club ask him to play he would do so with good grace.

Agreed

Because he's historically disruptive so nobody is bothered

Chris Kirkland has no reason to lie

SOME YEARS???

Yes they've been making first team appearances for years now. They're mid 20s don't forget.

I would like to think that it is solely a footballing decision but the way in which has been done clearly suggests it is not. You don't go from being the 1st choice keeper to never playing again.

What would you do in his position?  Go get a job which pays half the amount he's getting now?

So he's just a moneygrabber then?
Who knows that by staying it cripples us in how much we can spend on new players/wages - effectively risking relegation for the club

Thanks for the clarification
