Let's just post those stats again mate for all those claiming Westwood was the answer to all our problems...

Westwood's last game was in November, and our record from his 11 appearances leading up to that was W3 D3 L5.

Immediately after he was dropped our record was W4 D2 L0.

Usually, a drop in form often leads to being on the bench, I honestly can`t remember if he was or not?

Selective memory.

He was a great keeper but thats all in the past.

The last half dozen games he played for us he made some horrendous mistakes. The decision is not just based on his character from what I can see.

An aging keeper whom unfortunately time and age has cought up with.

Was never the best kicker or footwork and his positioning was often suspect as was his decision making on occasions .

Though a bit like a defender with pace, his really good reflexes and agility covered this up and making him look a better keeper. He'd be out of position or a bd starting position, would then mean a fantastic one handed diving save. It was always fantastic to watch, especially under SG coupled with the alamo defending with the ball pinging around the box and defenders trying to block or clear, used to get the heart racing, willing us to hang on and not concede.

Though the reflexes and agility has been on the wain last few years meaning he couldn't pull off those wonder saves to keep the ball out and he was looking very ordinary under Bullen at the start of that season.

Unfortunately you can't stop time and we get old and the body decays, I'll always remember those SG days and Carlos first season, but we need to move on now.
