Popular Post Spondon Owl
Its as simple as that i think. Man to man, not much in it, but their forward line was much more potent than ours. If we don't solve our striker crisis this is going to be a long difficult season.

Buddy Repperton
The usual sh1thousery from bristol didn't help. Falling about & time wasting. Garbage ref.
DobbinTheDonkey
The thing is Bristol City altered their approach. We didn't have an answer. The manager should be able to react to the change. Not hope it gets better before conceding. To put Reach on upfront is criminal. It does nothing for the player and nothing for his value if we wanted to sell.
McRightSide
Literally the only thing that changed was they went a little more direct and dropped the ball in and around van Aken. Luongo and Bannan were great first half and dominated, so they cut them out, targeted van Aken and that was that. They didn’t even bother trying with Iorfa. They just isolated Van Aken and he messed up multiple times - conceding possession, switching off, shape went to pieces. Simple game
slow83
Problem is for the last year the ‘better team’ have been beating us most weeks, at some point we have to look at why. 2 1
striker
I thought it was an even game on the whole. One team had established forwards, which was the difference.
jonesy87shef
I thought they were poor too. Goals change games of course and it was a poor refereeing display. He fell for it every minimal contact. The ref vs Fulham was brilliant imo so good ones do exist. Time wasting is simple to cut out too and he wasn’t interested.
Kew Owl
I thought we matched them first half, without ever really looking like scoring. Once they scored, there was no way back and it was effectively game done and dusted. My car won’t go anywhere if there’s no petrol in it. Similarly we won’t get anywhere without any decent established strikers who can pressurise defenders and create and take chances. It’s not rocket science
Daz
Our capitulations in second halves are shocking. For some reason we lose energy and drop deeper, handing the initiative to the opposition and leaving our attack completely impotent. It's either attitude, fitness or tactics as we've done it for a long time now in the vast majority of games. Abysmal second half and Monk had no clue how to change it.

Yes, despite our hard work, they have more talent! Today the talent beat the hard work!
modboy
Both mid table teams. Problem is our -12 points starting point

We were overrun in midfield because their “free” defender in the back 3 stepped into the midfield and carried the ball drawing a midfielder leaving it 2 on 3 in the middle out free defender is Tom lees who didn’t and never does this
mildatheart67
There have been a steady top 8 side for a few years now...didn't they blow a promotion spot in the last game at Hillsboro a few years back? By my reckoning they have had 1 season in the top flight since 1980, slim bloody pickings that

Guest
Typical Garry monk performance We are incapable of playing for 90 minutes 3 games without a goal now too But let keep signing non strikers to play striker it makes perfect sense right
