EFL covering themselves in glory again

Just heard that Orient have been expelled from the Carabao Cup for failing to fulfil their fixture against Tottenham because a good number of their players tested positive for COVID 19.

Professional football doesn’t do its reputation any good sometimes - this seems to me to be one of those occasions.

EFL morons rule OK !

You think Spurs are going to wait to play an EFL Cup fixture with the season congestion we are already experiencing?

If boot was on other foot and game hadn't taken place because some Tottenham players had tested positive do you reckon they would have kicked Tottenham out and given Orient a bye? 🙄

Would depend whether they had enough players to fulfill the fixture.

If it involved different clubs then would this reaction be the same? Say Preston couldn’t put out a team against Brighton.

Funny thing is I cant imagine any other EFL club agreeing to testing again after this.

Absolute farce.

Well, they can't keep voiding games if teams have to miss a game due to COVID infections.

Would be absolute farcical...but then this is the EFL so who knows lol.

Just seen that there’s a thread in this in the Matchday section - didn’t see it at the time, apologies
