Iorfa being tracked by Watford

Recommended Posts

Thinking about potential replacements... wasn’t there a rumour doing the rounds a few weeks back about Venancio being available on the cheap?

I like Iorfa, I think he’s one of the best players we’ve had in the last few years, but we’d have to consider any offer daft enough to allow us to replace him and strengthen in other areas and help with FFP

last season again? again? why cant you focus on this season? Monks plan,& tactics? cos thats whats relevant isnt it?& what impact said player may,or may not have on that? 4 clean sheets,3 wins,and a draw,4 points out of 6,in the Championship  would suggest this season is very different to the last...Lorfa i feel will play a big part in what Monks trying to do..thats my view...And why offer up sides who are not in the same position as us?..ridiculous...They have their own 'Lorfa's dont they?..Did they get promoted than by selling on their best players?..NO..& Please  spare us the net cut & paste of players coming & going from said Clubs, its Sunday, have a day off.we know

Wednesday just about the only Club that hasnt done so,again,we know...its about timing, these Players need to stay together, nothing is more important than keeping in the Championship for the Club, unless its the Clubs survival itself,in which case we would have to sell.

I don't like being that person but you need to put a space after your punctuation.

Aye gone are the days where selling your best players isn’t an option. Brentford have sold 1 or 2 players every other season for the last few years and still float in around the top 6. Every player is replaceable at the right price.

Cmon guys engage your brains. Keeping Iorfa if a good offer comes in would be utter lunacy.

He’s a good defender but he won’t defend us to promotion - equally losing him won’t relegate us.

I’m confident that Lees is back to his best, and with Dunkley hopefully in contention soon and Borner, Brennan & Shaw in the wings we wouldn’t be in a bad position.

Could also look for another gem from the lower leagues. I know we’re short on time before the window closes, but these lower league clubs are short on everything right now. Some below market deals for good potential may be possible

Use your own brain, its way too early after so few matchs to say it wouldnt make a difference, like it didnt make a difference when we lost Fletcher?every player has his price,so i agree that if a silly offer and i do mean 'silly; 10 million plus,we might have to consider it,but as others have said, how much of that figure would we actually get?..

And how much would it cost us to bring in someone to replace him? No guarantee either that said player would be any good, once here...

Not need to replace him? how do know? why fix something that isnt broken?

I think the issue is timing here. All clubs are under financial pressure in these current circumstances, any money’s received from a sale are unlikely to be ploughed back into the team. If we want this sale to help ease the financial burden on Mr C in the short term, then keep pushing for a sale. Thankfully, the chairman doesn’t think like that, and wants to see success on the field Selling one of our better players, who is integral to the way we play, won’t make sense to him, as it doesn’t to me

Seriously though, it'll come in handy when you leave school and you're writing application letters, CV's etc.

So you’re suggesting this season will be different to last based entirely on 2 league games? Obviously I hope it will be and support the manager but saying we are going to have a good season based on 4/6 points is ridiculous.

And yes those clubs did have their own “Iorfas” further proving my point that there are hundreds of defenders who are able to form part of a defensive unit that can be promoted which proves that Iorfa singularly isn’t pivotal to a clubs success.

I am suggesting what i post, not what you say i am posting...read,& inwardly digest...if you can..your posting absolute nonsense..decent players if available, are fetching prices akin to a telephone number, are usually well regarded, and fancied, and if tempted to a move, want the sort of wages we can no longer pay....

You are marking your own homework

I suggest you think on before you start such things, because they never end well..

You do not know me,or my Employment history, but presume to offer me advice on letter writing & CVs?..what on earth has any of that got to do with football,or SWFC?...

FFS

I wasn't trying to belittle your writing skills. I was politely advising the use of a space after punctuation.

Until you called me a bellend, which prompted me to make a poo joke about you still being at school

Funny i joined Owlstalk to comment,& exchange views on football,& SWFC..i dont feel the need to highlight any errors in spelling i notice(there are multiple, quite common) nor in doing so offer advice to people on how to apply for jobs or do their CV(despite once being a jobsearch tutor & designer of such programmes!)

Try worrying less about 'style' and more about 'substance'..not one comment from you about the thread title, when you replied to me in your initial reply. You obviously read my post, but didnt debate it,or offer a view of your own..Still haven't for that matter...just what do you imagine is 'polite' about that?
