Yes, as a right wing back he could be useful, and maybe in emergencies, he could be thrown up front.
The worrying thing for me though is, on that right side, we are seriously oversubscribed If we were in a position to say, the more, the merrier, you can’t have too many options, but we seriously are not.
With Harris in pole position at the moment, and Palmer, Odubajo and Urhoghide playing there, it’s a signing that is not a priority. Had we moved a couple of those on, then maybe Patterson would make more sense, but unless we are confident of moving them on, then we shouldn’t be adding another

I not sure where you are coming from. He will be brought as a front player. He is unlikely to be used in the wing  back role.

His best games have been upfront. He will suit our style, we are hard working and put pressure on opposition. This guy is mobile and good in air as a bonus. Although not rapid he is nippy as well which will suit when we put through balls through to forwards. He puts a shift in which is what we need. In addition we have a coach in Beattie who has turned geese into swans lets hope this is another.

Having seen Zohore and Patterson play I would say Patterson is far better in air. he is far more industrious, a better team player and just as quick. Cardiff got rid of Zohore and kept Patterson. Warnock would have signed Zohore for Boro if he thought could be useful this season instead gave wide berth.

Collins is pushing 30 and wouldn’t be cheap. If we spend, it should be on younger players.

Last year of his contract currently value around £1m in the market we currently have we could probably pick him up for less with add on based on goals.

He is a much more prolific and better option than wasting money on Zohore or Paterson he scored more goals than both of them put together last season too.

Was never allowed to play? You mean he wasn't chosen chosen because he was too fat, unfit and utter gash?

No I mean like Rhodes who was picked in only 19 of 46 match day squad, Winnall was picked even less, as was Fessi they didn't play so we cannot comment if they would or would have got the goals. But normally when a striker get a run in the team they have a tendency to score goals if they get good enough service that it, but for what ever reason when we lost Fletcher in January Monk chose not to play any of the striker he had and we managed to pick 13 points up from a possible 69.

That would suggest Monk may have been picking the wrong players up front. Now we are being linked with players who replace what we allowed to leave on free Zohore an expenses Nuihu, Paterson a Winnall without goals, all we need now is McCormack a more expensive version of Rhodes.

Dream on. He's worth more than that to Luton. He's their best hope of staying up...again.

Cardiff fans think exactly the same re. the two players.

According to a few website he is valued at about £950k but in the current transfer market which is definitely a buyers market, if we put the right package together based on performance and goals scored I can see it not being a lot more than £1m - if he score us 10-20 goals in the season it will be the best £1-2m we have spent in 5 years when you look how much the likes of Fletcher, Fessi and Rhodes have cost us per goal.

According to Wikipedia he’s been a right back and used as a striker... Where’s he played predominantly for cardiff ?

We need out and out strikers now, not the likes of adam reach who are a  ‘jack of all trades and master of none’.

Luton don’t have to sell him though. Keeping him in their team with the ability to score the goals to keep them up is worth FAR more than the 1 million they ‘may’ get for him if sold. It might be a buyers market right now but they’d probably rather let him run his contract down based on the above.

Indeed but we need a goal scorer to keep us in the league, if we get relegated it will cost the club £7m in tv money alone, we will have to get rid of any player on more than £2,500 a week which will mean pretty much the whole of the first team squad and if we think the championship rules are tight with Financial fair play wait till we are in league one.

We need goals, not players who might be a striker or basically players who are big lumps and offer little in the 6 yard box, we have no service to the striker we have now, how many crosses did we get into the box from out wide the last game. Top premier league strikers would struggle with the lack of service we get, but when we get two quality balls put into the box by Izzy Brown who is on the end of them, 2 central defenders because we don't have the strikers on the pitch to score the goals. Put Fletcher or Fessi on the end of those two deliveries and at least one of them would have won us the 3 points.

matters not what websites say. Pretty sure Luton will value him an integral part of their team. People hoping the likes of Collins or Jutkiewicz would be available on the cheap is wishful thinking. They’re proven goal scorers in the form of their lives.

Fessi is in Italy and Fletcher is at Stoke (injured).

Certainly agree that we need a forward who knows where the goal is but I suspect Luton will be using the same logic as you and therefore will keep hold of him.   Why go giving yourself a problem when you already have the answer?
