Sgt Wednesday
He's looking back to his best, looks a yard quicker and confident. Can only be good for SWFC.

Siggi's Jonnson
May be not being the captin now means he can concentrate on his game. Or playing with two other centre backs takes the pressure of him.
Sultan_Pepper
Always said he needed an old experienced leader alongside him like.....erm.....Van Aken and Iorfa. Maybe I've been doing him a disservice all these years, or he's become the leader now with the captaincy shackles off.
RoyCroppersHair
Best thing to happen to him taking the captaincy off him, he’s never been a leader, can just concentrate on his own game now and get back to how good he was a couple of seasons ago hopefully
Morepork
Really impressed me this week. Looked back to his best against Watford. Body on the line, quicker and sharper. Not to mention reading the game with more confidence and passing well (Usually a weakness in his game). Add to that his post match interview. Head down, suck it up attitude. Commendable in every regard. Edited September 21, 2020 by Morepork

Might be skill, might be mental but good coaches get the best from a player. And just earn some Brownie points from Neil, And a good manager. Man of the match for me on Saturday and a solid start to the season. Got to keep it up though. Monk brought him back into the side in July, we kept two clean sheets in his first two games back then conceded 5 at Fulham and two at home to Middlesbrough and he was at fault in both games. The Chief
Sometimes a clearance should have been a pass though. Not looking to criticise but perhaps clearances are not the best measure of a central defender.

Guest
I think it might have taken him a bit of time to get used to but possibly playing in a back 3 helps him, most of the time he can pass it off to Iorfa and Van Aaken quite simply so he doesn't have to try and pick out a pass, and he can concentrate on what he's best at. Django
He seemed to completely lose confidence when Jos was chopping and changing the side every week. When in an organised side he’s great at this level

Totally disagree with the Fulham/ Middlesbrough accusation. You could maybe say he could have done better for Boro’s 1st but name me one of the other 6 that was his fault. Player of the year Iorfa was at fault for more than Lees.

So many people on here saying we should get rid as of last season... mad. Absolutely mad. Tom Lees is a top quality centre back for this division. Kopparberg
Got too much grief if we’re honest. He would run through a brick wall for the club. Committed player who can still benefit the team. He’s been here a few years, and not every one of those is going to go perfectly. Looking forward to seeing how he does this season. Having a defender who can pass is all well and good, but if they can't defend then you'll have problems.
