I like the number of supporters on here defending an attention seeker that hurles continuous  vile abuse at women ( by his own admittance).

I assume it would be OK if he did it to your partner or daughter?

We really have a lovely fan base.

Crack on lads.

Have you heard some of the songs directed at women during a game?    In this PC world should they be banned?

If I recall, he was chucked out at Rotherham away.
We were ‘sat’ a few rows back from where he was apprehended. He was being a bit of a berk but not enough to justify the targeted eviction imo.

The stewards had an agenda. I’ve seen people doing far worse at away matches & not even been warned.

A few people angry that others seem to be condoning things?

I've not seen a single person condoning anything

Tango's misbehaved, got banned for it, served his time and now SWFC feel it's right to let him back

As far as I"m concerned the onus is now on him to show he's changed and won't do it again

If the club think it's ok for him to return now he's done his time, then I don't for one second think the club is condoning anything he's done do you?

Let's have some calm here

You said those of us criticising him were envious that he was a celebrity football fan and you acted like our criticism was jealousy 😂

You didn't come out and defend his actions, but you did say those of us criticising were wrong / jealous.

Agree but lets see if the penny drops and he moderates his behaviour. He is welcome back as a Wednesdayite but the welcome will be shortlived if he behaves like a tool.

I don't reckon he'll come back to Wednesday games. Probably pick another team to follow like he did with us when he stopped being a wolves fan.

NAILED IT RIGHT THERE....

Are you trying to equate a general song  - like ' Oh Sheffield is wonderful' - with direct,  sustained personal abuse of female stewards just doing their job? Really? ...and it's living in a 'PC World' to point out such abuse shouldn't happen?

All this is because the perpetrator is a loud mouthed attention seeking Sheffield Wednesday supporter?

Unbelievable.

No just opening out the debate, there are other songs in which women are derided and the song often directed at one particular woman.

I agree with you that no one should suffer personal abuse.

If he was banned for two years, he's only halfway through his ban.

Unless it was later reduced for some reason?

It was initially a two year ban.

He appealed.

An independent panel was set up to review it and Tango was very contrite, admitting his wrongdoing and agreeing to always adhere to the rules, to remain seated and to dress appropriately from now on, etc. The review took that into account and reduced it to one year.

Tango then went on to complain via the Football Supporters Association to the Independent Football Ombudsman. A full investigation took place with evidence provided by the club (including lots of complaints from Wednesday fans about his behaviour) and by the FSA on behalf of Tango.

The result of the IFO investigation was that they thought the one year ban was actually too lenient in the circumstances and Tango was lucky to have only received a one year ban.

As far as the length of the ban is concerned, the IFO considers the complainant fortunate not to have received a longer ban in light of the seriousness of the abuse directed at the female stewards, and the fact that he had also been ejected at the Rotherham match when abuse of stewards had also featured.

I wonder if we can use his legal team to oversee our appeal against the EFL?

I  think 99.99999% of fans who criticise or give Tango grief are just jealous that he's a more high profile fan than they are

Nothing more than that really

Just pure jealousy

That big fat whopper, along with the clown from pitsmoor and our Boy Scout band make us a right laughingstock.

That seems a lot of fuss for Tango to go to those lengths to try and get his ban over turned. He must have known he hadn't a leg to stand on.

I am not sure Tango would enjoy games when having to sit down and keep his clothes on.
Ironically in the circumstances he probably hasn't got a season ticket so might struggle to see a game in the flesh at all this season.

Hope he behaves himself this time and enjoys his football though.

It also created a lot of work and unnecessary distraction for club staff in preparing evidence for the IFO, etc, at a time when they were extremely busy with fighting the EFL charges and trying to avoid points deductions and other sanctions.

Can't dispute he is a Wednesday fan but also can't dispute if you have the misfortune to sit anywhere near him he is annoying as ********.

Not a conga fan then?

Yeah I remember my mate banging the drum for the band, before the seats went in and wanting to sit near us while he did it when we all had to get seats on the Kop. We all bought seats over the other end of the Kop and didn't tell him!

I’ve always had a deep mistrust of anyone that changes football club allegiance. I can never work it out.

Yes, agreed, but what is inmediately noticeable from his tweet is that there is not even the slightest hint at an apology or anything at all to indicate that he will moderate his behaviour in future.
